This one, in this size, is done on request. I am trying to slowly get caught up on my request list, and this makes one more done. Yay! If the collector decides against getting it, I'll change this post to "available."
Addendum: They liked it, wanted it, it's SOLD.

Lemons Two - SOLD
Lemons Two
Oil on Stretchd Canvas, 8" x 16"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.
One of my collectors had a request in for a painting similar to "Lemons in a Line Up" in the same 8" x 16" size. I had to search several art stores to find the canvas, so I bought two. Did the Lemons for him last night, and this one this afternoon. (Since I had all the colors out, and the lemons were looking good...) The sold one is below:

Grapes Backlit - NA
Grapes Backlit
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 6" x 6"
Not Available.
I am trying to teach myself to think smaller with these 6" x 6" canvases, even though they still take me three or four hours to do. I can see that I am going to have to invest in some smaller brushes. I really am enjoying this series of red grapes, the colors are so varied and beautiful. I am dubbing these small guys "pocket paintings" though nobody I know would carry a painting in their pocket. It's catchy, don't you think?

Oil on Stretched Canvas, 6" x 6"
SOLD at $45.00 plus $5.00 shipping.
I switched up canvas today, and floundered with it. I've been using Dick Blick brand canvas, and I've been very pleased with it. Switched to Winsor Newton, and I felt today like I was ice skating on this square. Time to get out the Gesso, it would seem, create some grip on these little guys.

I am just amazed by how perceptive and detail savvy my readers are. I had notes, comments and emails from people who took the trouble to really study the WIP, and give me great advice on what was wrong with the painting. You were spot-on. I even had a reader who superimposed the painting over the photo to show me what I could correct. I wish I had the expertise to make every single change you all suggested. But today my paint is tacky, and so I made what small changes I could, and finished the piece with the intention of letting it dry before I make more corrections. Thanks, everyone, for all the great help!
Addendum: My daughter and I agree, that while it's a sweet face, it isn't our Katie Grace. So I'll do another for my dd, and call this one practice. It is available, for whoever just wants a sweet faced child painting hanging somewhere.

Katie Grace in Progress

Katie Grace in ProgressOil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"
I generally don't show a WIP, but today I worked hard on this and didn't get done. Wanted to post it anyway. If it turns out to be enough of a likeness to my grandaughter, it will be a birthday present for my daughter. I also don't generally solicit critiques from you all, but if you can see what needs fixing or changing (there's a lot, I know), and feel like commenting, that would be great. The reference photo is included. Isn't she precious?

Grapies - SOLD
Grapies
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 8"
SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping.
When you're an Oma of some duration, these are not grapes, but "grapies." Or would it be grapees? I love the colors you can find in these, yellows, oranges, ochres, reds, purples, mauve, brownish orange. In the light, they become almost translucent.

Peppers with Purple
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $20.00, including shipping.
This is a revision of the Wild Mama Blues pepper painting from a couple of weeks ago. Oils are supposed to mix with water soluble oils, but I got a tackiness from overpainting with oils today. I think it's probably best to stick with one or the other, but at least I like this piece better now. If somebody wants it, I should mention that the stretched canvas on this one is a bit tipped, and the framer will need to do a little tapping with a hammer to get it back on the square to frame it.

Isn't this one neat? Before I had the digital camera I have now, I had a beautiful Nikon, but I felt too guilty to keep it (very expensive), so I traded it in for my Canon at half the price. But I did take a few photos with it, and some of them were close ups of hygrangeas. This is from one of those photos.

Today I was actually trying for a new way to paint these guys, but it didn't work out very well. I really want to find another way to do them besides the dots and dabs I've been using, but today it didn't happen.

Those First Few Drops
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping.
I didn't mean for it to happen when I started, but the sky got rainy and I went with it. You can almost smell the ozone. The move is still ongoing, (my grey mood maybe?) more trips back to the old place, boxes everywhere in the new place, oh, la. Kids running around, U-Haul got stuck in the mud when the guys tried to save some steps and drove it into the grass. What a mess. I got settled enough to paint though, so we are getting back on track. I think I'll add a few dots of white in the water to represent those "first few drops."

Bay Inlet - SOLD
Bay Inlet
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 16"
SOLD at $80.00 plus shipping.
I've had the photo reference for this one knocking around for about 5 years, ever since I took a weekend plein air class with Beth Kinsella Cople. The class met on the Eastern Shore, and it was wonderful. So today I dragged out the photo and used it as reference for this piece. My online class is doing landscapes this week, and some of the students want to paint water, so this one will become a step-by-step for them.
Grogan Road 3 - SOLD
Grogan Road 3
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas, 22" x 28"
Wrap Depth is 1.5"
SOLD
This one was done by request, and the edges aren't done yet, since I'm waiting for it to dry, but it was a two day painting because of the size. It's been awhile since I've done one as large as this. I'm very pleased with the reults.
