Dark Iris for Anne
Watercolor on 300 lb CP Paper, 10" x 22"
SOLD at $90 plus shipping.
One of my floral collectors was disappointed that she didn't get one of the darks, so here you go, dear Anne. Click to see larger, and thanks for looking. Detail below: So I'm packing up the paints, and storing the rest of my watercolor paper, until we get settled in Louisiana. This will be my last post until the beginning of July. It felt good to finish up today with the rest of the irises (see next post) I've promised. Have a lovely rest-of-June, everyone.

Three Siberians - SOLD
Three Single Siberians
7" x 14" each, Watercolor on 140 lb Paper
SOLD at $25.00 each plus $5.00 shipping.
These were so popular that I clipped a few more from the profusion in the yard, and did them all at once, stapled to the same board. Left to right, they are One, Two, Three. There were a couple of regular collectors who wanted some, but may not any longer. Thanks for looking.

Peonies Watercolor - SOLD
Peonies Watercolor, with Detail
Watercolor on Whatman 140 lb CP Paper, 22" x 30"
Image size 19" x 21"
SOLD at $115.00, shipping included
Until one of my collectors asked about peonies, I completely forgot them. The blooming season here is pretty much done, the blooms I could find were almost over. But I did remember that way back when I had drawn out a very detailed painting and still had it somewhere. I found it and finished the painting, which I had begun. The edges of the paper are storage-worn and there are a couple of nicks beyond the image area, but I decided that it was worthwhile finishing, the rendering was so complete, drawn from a bunch of blooms from Maryland, probably my mother's garden. Thanks for looking.

Last of the Pansies - SOLD
Last of the Pansies
Watercolor on 300 ln Arches Rough, 13" x 13" (image 10" x 10")
SOLD at $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping.
A quick watercolor of the last of the pansies, as they wither in the heat. This one is a little brighter than it looks on my screen, but took the photo outdoors, so it may have washed out a little. A nice little change, looser than the irises I've been doing. Just so you know, I'll be stopping my posts sometime this weekend, until the end of June. At which time, there will be a whole new studio set up, new environment, even palm trees! as we get settled in Louisiana. Thanks, as always, for looking.

Salmon and Wine Iris - SOLD
Salmon and Wine Iris
Watercolor on 140 lb Strathmore Gemini Paper, 14" x 21"
SOLD at $100.00, includes shipping.
This is the last of Jo's irises, and they have lasted so well. There were a lot of buds, too, on the stems I clipped. I am pleased with this one, it went so easily. I am also very close to being a convert from a preference for Arches, to a preference for the Strathmore Gemini. It has such nice "sculpting" capabilities. You can easily add and lift color. Thanks for looking. Click to see larger.

Coming and Going - SOLD
Coming and Going
Watercolor on 300 lb Arches Paper, 10" x 14"
SOLD at $75.00, includes shipping.
I liked this one, another view of the purples, because while one bloom is done, another starts to open. I hope you aren't getting itred of the irises, I simply have to paint them while they bloom. Thanks for looking.

Frilly Purple Irises - SOLD
Frilly Purple Irises
Watercolor on 140 lb Strathmore CP Paper, 14" x 20"
SOLD at $86.00, plus shipping, ebay auction
This is another of the stems from Jo's garden. So nice to do these from life, for as long as they last. This painting had it's own set of woes. First, the pipes overhead in the basement sweated and dripped on it, and then the cat trotted across some fresh purple and made cute little cat paw prints (which I mopped up and bleached out) on the white areas. (And then gave me such an innocent look, sitting on the painting.) But it turned out in spite of the obstacles. Click to see larger. Thanks for looking.
