This pot filled with dried hydrangea branches has been sitting on my bookshelf all winter, waiting for the mood...gotta love these winter colors. I still want to figure out a more "massy" way to do these guys, but for now, same style.

I did this little demo, since we were talking about doing water, and how the brush stroke direction can help you get the illusion of water. You know when they start to complain about you to visitors ("Yeah, she's really mean. She picks on us all the time.") you've got a lovely rapport. ("Yeah, I make 'em work really hard! They can't get away with anything in here.")

A little palette knife painting, using up some mixes of greys and lavenders. Done with palette knife, so a lot of texture. Magenta Hydrangea - SOLD

Magenta Hydrangea Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 8" SOLD at $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping. It's a little dismal out, so I'm thinking spring colors. I really can't complain though, since I get to paint, listen to NPR, and munch on mango slices. Really, how nice is that? Oh, and by the way, can you say Magenta Hydrangea three times fast? I can't, I tried.
