Lemon Sketch

Lemon Sketch
Oil on Wood Panel. 8" x 8"
Available at $24 plus $10 shipping.

I decided to try something new today: no overhead light on my easel. I always do like a dramatic lighting effect, but because I have a great light attached to the top of my easel, it generally doesn't happen. The up side is a much more dramatic painting, the down side is that I really could not see my actual painting all that well. Painting in the semi-dark. So, let's call it a sketch.

Thinking Lilacs

Thinking Lilacs
Oil on Wood Panel, 6" x 8"
Available at $20 plus $10 shipping.

For my delightful cousin B. I did a painting of "beauty berries" recently. Ever heard of these berries? No, I hadn't either. See below for how the painting came out (now that it's been given as a gift, I can show it here.) Anyway, I had a lot of colors mixed, and the piles of paint reminded me of Spring, hence some abstract lilacs. Done with a palette knife.

These are the berries:

Three D'Anjou Pears

Three D'Anjou Pears
Oil on Wood Panel, 6" x 8"
Available at $24 plus $10 shipping.

I took some artistic license with this one, and reduced the size of the first pear on the left. It's actually the size of a mango. In fact, when I first saw it, I thought it was a mango. These guys are so pretty, there may be just one more painting in them. A few dings, which can be hidden in paint, but good, I think, for one more day.

Around the Bend - SOLD

Around the Bend
Oil on Wood Panel, 12" x 16"
SOLD at $40 plus $10 shipping.

Walking downtown today, the in-town maples had turned, and I noticed leaves that were almost neon in their brightness. Gorgeous colors! Like the red-oranges here, so vivid. Other varieties were less flashy, but lovely yellows and browns. Don't you love the fall colors? We are actually almost done here, between the rain and the cold. BUT ....only 5 months until Spring!
