I mean, I still had to "think" and "consider" a bit, but it went so slowly that there was plenty of time to try and see, change if needed. The weaving strips are not that curved. This is basically two floral paintings on paper treated with an experimental base (Plaster of Paris mixed with Gesso). (see below for example) When those florals were boring, I cut them both up and wove them. Then applied Gel Medium and glued them to yet another piece of paper, so the whole thing is a bit thick, and a bit "lumpy", but will not need glass. Happy Fourth, and one of my very favorite holidays! Hope that you are celebrating and enjoying the day in your own fashion and with some good peeps. And super weather!<br /></p><p>God Please Bless America, our beautiful land.</p><p>This one is for all my Dutchies out there, and I expect that they will be the only ones who "get" the nuances of the expression in Dutch. Celebrating my American citizenship, and our country and my sweet Dutch heritage, all at the same time. Learning some new techniques and being inspired to boot. The teacher is terrific, but understated. Sabra Issa is her name, and you can see some YouTube lessons if you google her name. Otherwise, her portfolio is here: https://sabraissa.com/portfolio/ Here are some of the projects I've done, and next we'll tackle portraits, some with hands showing also.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ypvuPpPZzmeOo2LAIhTgIyZovLkXbYcZ9WB7V4gDpcl1y6RlXb0PB1tN5qkCu7uq_IqR6xSsYwxhdOy9znr4mTBwcYmZCDiBzY5ZZjjSm3jeGz1JJNgF4djnn6IqngzIMHzAzA/s2048/Entwined-Hands-Pastel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1249" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ypvuPpPZzmeOo2LAIhTgIyZovLkXbYcZ9WB7V4gDpcl1y6RlXb0PB1tN5qkCu7uq_IqR6xSsYwxhdOy9znr4mTBwcYmZCDiBzY5ZZjjSm3jeGz1JJNgF4djnn6IqngzIMHzAzA/s320/Entwined-Hands-Pastel.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOdfyHHn4KmVtDjz8yGF0K4VXG6Vj5v_iybNjbezqApq0sodOdqbt3btiRh7J4RW2pk7sm0K0yXqCt1cz9Pk862WLz_E_ZUdRQYj5j4mBXwDDgQPBDtyluI2tLp1t0N9Mp7453lQ/s2048/Interlaced-Hands.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOdfyHHn4KmVtDjz8yGF0K4VXG6Vj5v_iybNjbezqApq0sodOdqbt3btiRh7J4RW2pk7sm0K0yXqCt1cz9Pk862WLz_E_ZUdRQYj5j4mBXwDDgQPBDtyluI2tLp1t0N9Mp7453lQ/s320/Interlaced-Hands.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvn5Fsn2Yt1VgInV9Byo3fJzmWF_TfdQqHnh63-qJutLsafVT9VEHSvuMZMDHmUr-fYdCsQfEx5DoPEYkFy7NV73qIzsBaRGYkVHNI6geYb2akRycvfMd7waR1oP79vwqwmSINPg/s2048/Hand-Two-Acrylic-and-Gesso.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1865" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvn5Fsn2Yt1VgInV9Byo3fJzmWF_TfdQqHnh63-qJutLsafVT9VEHSvuMZMDHmUr-fYdCsQfEx5DoPEYkFy7NV73qIzsBaRGYkVHNI6geYb2akRycvfMd7waR1oP79vwqwmSINPg/s320/Hand-Two-Acrylic-and-Gesso.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj42-oODHsLYz9pTMM_FT8akSGinNqORVbwI4fWI2i-QhPHk-c7oGdXrGTQEIZfiE8jazMokNm6e2hkhvo-Qbig7mZ8BV9O7EV_7UdDiYS4uj9FP0ztgyvyyhtqqgVeDXdQOVPzoA/s2048/Hand-Lesson-One-Some-Water.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj42-oODHsLYz9pTMM_FT8akSGinNqORVbwI4fWI2i-QhPHk-c7oGdXrGTQEIZfiE8jazMokNm6e2hkhvo-Qbig7mZ8BV9O7EV_7UdDiYS4uj9FP0ztgyvyyhtqqgVeDXdQOVPzoA/s320/Hand-Lesson-One-Some-Water.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwvmqldiXDX2DsO8G1W9ElN_eYYQ18laNg9Yspm2Bc3PQPFyVDSVRTpW63uaCJVr9rH3FwikkDpjavpjFCYZ34Zv2LVmz9Roomxw29L7cq7MWPJtatKHOR0phhd1w4l8BY9MDJ1A/s2048/Hand-Sketch-Lesson-One.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwvmqldiXDX2DsO8G1W9ElN_eYYQ18laNg9Yspm2Bc3PQPFyVDSVRTpW63uaCJVr9rH3FwikkDpjavpjFCYZ34Zv2LVmz9Roomxw29L7cq7MWPJtatKHOR0phhd1w4l8BY9MDJ1A/s320/Hand-Sketch-Lesson-One.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />Thought you might like to see them. So, more of a series, though please feel free to hang as many as you wish, as a set if you should choose to. It is an ode to summer, that precious and fleeting season that really only lasts 2 and a half months. While sadly, winter gets 5 months. Now, is that fair, I ask you?
