Imagine my delight to find the Home Depot with pansies for sale. I really didn't know there were varieties that like cooler fall weather, but what fun to have them.
Very, nice. I love how the deep velvety darks contrast with the lightest shades of the petals.
Yes, indeed, pansies love the cold weather. I remember as a child I was with my mother in a little shop where flats of pansies were displayed in the fall. I must have remarked on planting them in the fall. The proprietor told me, "A pansy is no pansy!" I thought that was so clever, I've remembered it all my life!
Welcome to my daily painting blog. Here I'll post my efforts to paint one small painting a day, with a little wiggle room by saying five per week. I work primarily in oils these days, but also love my watercolors. I hope you enjoy my work, and as always, your comments are welcome.

And so it has taken me all of sixty years to understand that water is the finest drink, and bread the most delicious food, and that art is worthless unless it plants a measure of splendor in people's hearts. ~ Taha Muhammad Ali ~
