From a real Hydrangea - SOLD
From a real Hydrangea
Oil on Linen Panel, 9" x 12"
SOLD at $60.00 plus $5.00 shipping
I was in the grocery store yesterday for coffee, and they had two gorgeous hydrangea plants, so I totally splurged and bought one. I am hoping that it'll take in my little garden this spring. The tag says that if the soil is alkaline, it will turn pink, isn't that interesting? And acid soil will keep it blue.

Fall Surround 2 - SOLD
Fall Surround 2
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 16" x 20"
SOLD at $80.00 plus $15.00 shipping.
This is the second painting from the reference photo I borrowed from my student. It has a different sort of flavor from the first one, posted earlier this past week. I used more blue in this one, less sienna, and the rocks on this one I did with a palette knife. Gotta love the fall colors, even if it is February!

Irises Watercolor 2011 - SOLD
Irises Watercolor 2011 Watercolor on 300 lb Arches paper, full sheet, 22.5" x 30"
SOLD at $125.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Detail below.
My first iris watercolor of the year. This is a pretty big painting, took 3 days to get it done. It does have some presence. If you're a fan of these colors, I think you'll be pleased with the watercolor in person. Sunday, February 20, 2011
Spring Splash Hydrangea - SOLD
Spring Splash Hydrangea
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $35.00 plus $5.00
I am actually working on a large iris watercolor for the past few days, but it takes some time, so meanwhile here's a small hydrangea painting for my daily post. I added a new color to this one, light, soft yellow. It adds, I think.

White Tulip 2011 - SOLD
Curly Magnolia - NA
Curly Magnolia Oil on Linen, 10" x 10"
Not Available, revised on 7/14/2011.
I'm not happy with this one. The linen made everything hard to blend, so it's pretty rough, by necessity. And it got darker than I like, but here it is anyway. I figured someone might like it. And I get to move on, maybe come back and try this flower stem again. (it's a new one from Michael's.)

Revised Creek - SOLD
Revised Creek
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping.
There was a lot of interest in this one from a couple of weeks ago. I think that we all love water and trees. But there was a lot of yellowish reflection in the creek, and it was passed by. So today I declared it a revisions day, and this was one of them, and I dropped the price a bit.

Onions in the Spotlight - SOLD
Onions in the Spotlight
Oil on Stretched Linen, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping.
I loved the long top on this onion, carefully preserving it on the way home form the grocery store, making sure that it was on the top of the pile of bags in the cart. And going without a nice slice of onion on my last night's hamburger. Such sacrifices we artists' make....

Clinging Winter Leaves
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"
SOLD at $60.00 plus shipping.
Although I worked from an old photo from Massachusetts, there are a few of these golden guys hanging on to the trees outside my Maryland apartment. I love it when the sun catches them, and become so grateful for their touches of color against all the subtle winter shades.
