Dried Hydrangeas 2, Revised
Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
SOLD at $25, includes shipping.
I've revised this guy, and I think it looks better.
I darkened the background (it was a little too bright.) And I've glazed the cloth on the table.
And lowered the price a bit.
Here's what it looked like before:
Better, don't you think?

Field Landscape - SOLD
Field Landscape
Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
SOLD
Wanted to use some of those nice "Spring" greens, so this is from a variety of reference photos.
I'm pretty happy with it, and it wasn't such a struggle as the still lifes.

Tranquil Landscape, and Revised Onions - SOLD
Tranquil Landscape
Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
SOLD at $25, includes shipping.
Today I wanted an easy landscape (since the still lifes are harder for me.)
And I revised the shadows on the onions from yesterday as well. They looked too dark to me.

Thanks for looking.

Three Onions, and Revised Dried Hydrangea - SOLD
Three Onions
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 9" x 12"
SOLD
My onions from the Natural Food store here in Chestertown, with a red plush throw hooked into the window curtains for a background. I like that rich background color, and I'm happy with the onions.
Note: The top photo is the revised painting, with softer shadows, and photo taken in daylight.
Dried Hydrangea
Oil on Canvas Panel, 9" x 12"
SOLD at $25, includes shipping.
I revised the hydrangea from the other day, used the little blue jug and the lap throw tucked into the curtains again. Much better, don't you think?

Little Blue Jug - NA
Little Blue Jug
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 9" x 12"
Not Available, Revised on 4/21/17
This is an odd little painting. At the AirBnB where I'm staying right now, there are only yellow lights (the old incandescent bulbs) so even though I'm painting by a window, the light inside is yellow. When I matched my colors to what I was painting, I tried for exact, and okay, I got close, but.....If you like the piece, but want the cloth to be a different color, I can do that too.
I DO like the onions and the jug.

Creek to the Chester
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"
Revised on April 23, 2017
Across the street is a long, narrow park, which follows a little creek, which leads into the Chester River. Nice that they built a little footbridge over the creek, a good place to take a photo or two. Sweet little spot to walk to.

Bay Remembered
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"

Even though it was too cold to be out plein air painting while I was at the beach house, I took some nice photos when it was pretty. It's always a treat to watch a sunset over the water, and I love the variety of colors in the water itself.

It rained today, a very wet day, so I was inside, and inside meant painting, so here are a couple that are a bit on the "warm" side because of the indoor lamps.

Exploring Chestertown, MD
This week finds me in Chestertown, MD.
I think it's still considered part of the Eastern Shore, but I could be wrong about that.
A small, very old, quaint, charming town along the Chester River, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Most of the houses look like old Georgetown or Williamsburg, to my eye anyway. Colonial.
And the main street, called High Street, is the town shopping area, with galleries, coffee shops, gift shops, a pottery collective, a couple of hotels, a florist, a bakery, a restaurant or two, and even a Dunkin' Donuts. I'm sure much of the business happens during Washington College events, but there is a farmer's market on the green on Saturday mornings.
Chilly and overcast today, not many folks out walking. This leads right down to the dock by the river.
Apartment hunting with my family, while they put me up in an AirBnB, and I learn to be a walker.
You'll start to see some paintings from here ....sooner hopefully rather than later.

Delaware Winter
At the Beach House, a refuge while I look for a new abode.
I'm getting a lot of help searching, from my dear family, and meanwhile, it's the Light that captures my attention. Making fires, staying warm, watching the wind, seeing what winter is like on the Bay.
This is what the calm bay normally looks like:
But not the other day!
I've never seen the bay here with whitecaps, let alone crashing waves.
I've done a few paintings, and they are for sale, with the understanding that I probably won't be shipping them for a good month or so, giving me time to get settled somewhere.

I liked the reference photo (from Google images) because of the dark sky and the single spot of bright yellow. I think it turned out fairly well.

What Greens May Come
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 18" x 18"
SOLD
Even though we haven't really had much deep winter weather here in the DC area, I am still eager for the greens of Spring. So a little deviation from the winter colors, and a dip into greens, treated as a sort of fantasy painting.

I'm pretty happy with this one, especially the spots in the back that show sunshine on snow shadows.
