High Summer Path
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $85.00 plus shipping.
I don't think I could like this one any better if it was painted by another artist. (And that's saying a lot!) I remember stopping on the road to take this photo in Maryland, I think it was on the way home from plein air painting with a group. It took all of twenty minutes to paint, nice thick paint to cover over a failed pansy painting that was scaped down but still tacky. Isn't it just a small gem? I really like the "air" in it. Thanks for looking.

Iris for Noelle - SOLD
Iris for Noelle
Oil on Canvas Board, 8" x 10"
Sold at $65.00 plus shipping.
Noelle is one of my collectors, and a sister of one of my avid floral collectors. She liked the one from yesterday, but has a frame in this size, and asked if I would do it again in the size to fit her frame. Oh, well, since it's an iris... I was out of the 8 x 10's, so found my very first (dismal) apple painting, sanded it down, and voila. Thanks for looking.

Vertical Iris SOLD
Vertical Iris
Oil on Canvas Board, 10" x 12"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.
This was the second one today, mostly because I had all sorts of lovely colors mixed and left over. Too nice to waste. Also because there have been so many requests for florals, and particularly the irises. I am happy to know that I'm not the only one with a passion for these gems. Thanks for looking.

Stream on the Edge of Spring - SOLD
Stream on the Edge of Spring
Oil on Canvas Board, 10" x 12"
SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping.
First time out this season. I think I forgot everything I learned last year about plein air painting, but it was wonderful to be out in the sunshine and fresh air anyway. This is Galloway Brook in Cook's Canyon, here in Barre. The stream was actually golden with the sun shining to the bottom of it. I do like the birches in this one. Thanks for looking.

Two Faces - SOLD
Apple Reflection
Apple Reflection
Oil on Canvas Board, 6" x 8"
Available at $40.00 plus shipping.
An apple on a mirror, painted as quickly as I could, with as large brushes as I could. It's a continuing effort to paint more loosely, with more regard for the paint and what it's doing than for the actual subject matter. (Besides, I'm working on taxes today. Yes, I know, "can you say procrastinate?") Thanks for looking.

Calligraphic Clouds - SOLD
Calligraphic Clouds
Oil on Canvas Board, 6" x 8"
SOLD at $40.00
This little sunrise landscape is just a made up sky scape, with a focus on brushwork. I tried to use the brush like a sketching pencil, and the marks seemed almost calligraphic to me. It's a fun way to paint, very quick. I did more deliberate painting on the bottom, but mostly this was done with the side of a flat brush. Thanks for looking.

Leeks with Pepper
Leeks with Pepper
Oik on Canvas Board, 8" x 16"
Available at $75.00 plus shipping.
I really like this color combination, the red and green popping off each other with the nice blue-gray and whites. Now to figure out what to do with the leeks! Almost too pretty to eat, I'm thinking of painting them again. Thanks for looking.

Daffodils in Green Jar - SOLD
Daffodils in Green Jar
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $40.00 plus shipping.
Very odd thing, that yellow iris petals give me no trouble, while little daffodil flutes give me no end of trouble. I had to wipe out twice before I was able to paint something that looked even a little like a daffodil. More practice, I think. I like the composition here though. Thanks for looking.

Princess Iris Two
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
Sold at $75.00 plus shipping.
This is another of the same pink iris as two days ago, but here I've gone a little more rich on the pinks, since it's for a little girl's room. (Brighter colors.) Are you all getting weary of the parade of iris paintings yet? I promise, something else tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Pink Roses Set - SOLD
Roses for Amy
Oil on Canvas Panels, 6" x 8" each.
Sold at $75.00 plus shipping.
This one actually gave me some trouble, several sections had to be wiped out and redrawn, then repainted. But in the end, this was very satisfying to do, maybe beause of the collector, who is a dear, and who wanted this one for her niece. It was also fun to work on two panels as one. I'm not really clever with manipulating the blogger program, so I've shown the two separated in the post below. Thanks for looking.

Princess Iris - SOLD
Princess Iris
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shippiing.
This one was painted with the leftover mixes from the pink clouds yesterday. plus some new ones. It just reminds me so much of a "princess type", with swirling pink skirts, hence the name. It's more complete than my sectional paintings, but it just seemed to want to be painted that way. Thanks for looking.
