Quiet Inlet -SOLD

Quiet Inlet 16" x 20", Oil on Stretched Canvas Sold at $50.00 plus shipping. I've been noticing the wonderful colors of the sky at sunset, the glow of yellow in the sky, and the beautiful almost turquoise color above. I wanted to play with these colors and this made-up landscape is what evolved. Thanks for looking.

Summer Field - SOLD

Summer Field 9" x 12", Oil on Canvasboard, Sold at $40.00 plus shipping. The sky was wild with clouds today, but they seemed to all be "over there." Where I was painting it was all about sunshine, the field and sky. I really like how the field and trees turned out on this little guy. Thanks for looking.

Suncatchers

Suncatchers 10" x 10", Oil on Canvasboard, Available at $35.00 plus shipping. The old abandoned house again today, and the sunshine was creating spots of brightness on the leaves here and there. Splendid to be out and painting, just soaking in all the beauty of a summer day. Thanks for looking.

Gerber One - SOLD

Gerber One 9" x 12", Oil on Canvas Sold at $40.00 plus shipping. This was a complicated but fun painting to do. I'm calling it Gerber One, becasue I'm going to use this plant again. The color of the flowers and shapes of the leaves are just beautiful. Thanks for looking.

The Hairdresser's Place - SOLD

The Hairdresser's Place 9" x 12", Oil on Canvasboard Sold at $40.00 plus shipping. Just past the remodeled house where my daughter's hairdresser does business is a picnic turn-in along the water, and I was tickled that you could see the house from the shoreline. Not many strip malls in the country. It was overcast and the breeze kept blowing the refections away, so I tried to show how silvery the sky and water were. Thanks for looking.

Mama and Baby - SOLD

Mama and Baby 9" x 12", Oil on Canvas board Sold at $35.00 plus shipping. I got permission to paint on one of the local dairy farms today, Carter and Stevens Farm right here in Barre. They also have a lovely little country store, where they sell fresh milk and ice cream (which I've heard is quite wonderful.) So I painted cows, next visit maybe some of the cool barns. This mama and baby were separated from the herd, so I had a nice close view of them (although they didn't want to stay in the same spot for long.) The next painting is of the herd grazing. Thanks for looking.

Stevens Cows in the Pasture - SOLD

Stevens Cows in the Pasure 10" x 10", Oil on Canvasboard Sold at $35.00 plus shipping. Behind one of the barns, looking down into one of the pastures. Sunshine, blue sky, and the swoop and sounds of barn swallows. Thanks for looking.

Lawn Chairs - SOLD

Lawn Chairs 10" x 10" Oil on Canvasboard, sold at $45.00 plus shipping This is such a cozy image that I'll probably take some pictures and do it again. Sitting in the backyard, looking across at the neighbors yard (and they are nice folks who don't mind that I rearranged their lawn furniture to paint.) New size canvas board as well, since RayMar will cut to order. Thanks for looking.

Curve in the Road - SOLD

Curve in the Road 12" x 16", Oil on Canvas board Sold at $50.00 plus shipping. I've done a small version of this most appealing subject already, but wanted to try it again. I really love the high contrast of coming around a shady bend in the road into strong sunlight. Thanks for looking.

Purple Iris Pen & Ink with Watercolor - SOLD

Purple Iris Pen & Ink with Watercolor 11" x 15" SOLD at $40.00 plus shipping Detail included This is a little different from my other watercolors. I did a tight pen and ink drawing first, and then a loose watercolor over top. It had less "sculpting" than my normal watercolors. This plant is almost done blooming, but it has been a beauty. Thanks for looking.

Iris on Clayboard Watercolor - SOLD

Iris on Clayboard 9" x 12" Watercolor on Clayboard Sold at 20.00 plus shipping. My last piece of clayboard, and I really am trying to like it. It scrubs well, it sprays well, it takes color well, but it just doesn't feel right for blending. I think it might be good for washy landscapes. What do you think of this one? Thanks for looking.

Moss Pond Redo - SOLD

Moss Pond Redo 16" x 20" Oil on Canvasboard Sold at $50.00 plus shipping This is a re-do of the posted painting for April 11th, and I've come down a bit on the price. I like the water much better now. Thanks for looking.

Barre Farmer's Market - SOLD

Barre Farmer's Market
9" x 12"
Oil on Canvasboard
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping.
Sitting at the Farmer's Market today, on the Barre town green (commons) enjoying the summer day, and I finally got up the nerve to paint (in public.) The trick with painting in a busy place is figuring out what to include, what to ignore. So many details, so much to see. As a first attempt, I like this. Imagine if I did this all summer? Thanks for looking.

Purple Iris with Buds - SOLD

Purple Iris with Buds Watercolor on Arches 300 lb paper (rough) 14" x 23" Sold at $100.00, shipping included
Another huge iris plant, purple this time, and so generous with its blooms. This one bent over from its own weight and broke, so is finishing out its beauty in a glass jar. I hope to be able to paint it again tomorrow, time permitting. This is a large painting, good for a big wall space. Thanks for looking.

Glowing Light Pond - SOLD

Glowing Light at the Pond 16" x 20" Oil on Canvasboard, detail shown Sold at $65.00 plus shipping When I drove past this little pond in South Barre the other evening, the light was just catching the tops of the trees, so I had to stop and shoot a few photos. I really liked the orange glow on the trunks and branches, and brown earth had become sienna. I really am enjoyng all the little ponds and creeks around the area. Thanks for looking.

Lawn Shadows - SOLD

Lawn Shadows
9" x 12"
Oil on Canvasboard
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping
The various colors of green is what interested me here. Later in the afternoon, and the sun over the tops of the trees and the long lawn shadows gave a cool end-of-day feeling to this painting. Thanks for looking.
