This is what we did on Thursday, me and my private student. I wanted to see if I could do a textured painting in acrylics, and while the coverage isn't as good as with the oils, (click on the image to enlarge) you can still get some of the subtle color shifts. Since the acrylics dry so quickly, there isn't as much chance to blend one color into another. However, since my student enjoyed the technique, I'll probably teach it to my class on Wednesday.

I wanted a simple landscape this afternoon, and played with the sky.
Phthalo Blue makes a good sunset/sunrise turquoise color for sky, I'm finding. I haven't used it much, since it's a really intense blue, but now I will.

I wanted to see if I could do justice to really pale pink tulips. I think they turned out nicely, but a little graphic looking. Like they should have had more "modeling." Yes? But still a sweet touch for a corner somewhere.

Lots more bird song in the woods behind my apartment, nice, and a few warmer days. That's not much comfort to folks who are still buried in deep piles of snow, but we'll get there.

A recurring theme, I do love painting paths and trails going through woods. I think this one turned out nicely, though in general I feel like I'm in a bit of a slump. It happens, you just paint through it, though a workshop or a new book, or maybe buying a painting video may help give me some new oomph.
