I am still playing with the lovely photo card that my friend in Massachusetts sent to me. Here I've simply played with a small canvas, and some of the colors taken from the card. The image wraps around and above. I'll paint the bottom when it is dry enough to handle.

Sometimes my choice of subject is determined by how much paint I have leftover and what mixed colors. Today I worked on an impressionistic style painting (see below) and had loads of mixed pastels leftover. Aha, a lavender hydrangea. This one has nice subdued leaves, lots of grey green.

There was a lot of response to the painting of fall foliage the other day, so I did another version. This one has more of the golds and yellows in it, with pine branches framing it.
