Garlic Bulbs
Oil on Linen Panel, 6" x 6"
sold at $20 plus $10 shipping.
The painting went better today, since I treated the canvas, before I started, with solvent. It made the application a bit less sticky. Tomorrow I'll try Gesso. I also shone a couple of lights on my still life to make it a bit more dramatic, and I think it brought out the blues.

Still Life with Garlic - SOLD
Still Life with Garlic
Oil on Linen Panel, 6" x 6"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping.
I had a dickens of a time with my painting today, using a new surface, which absorbed the paint the second I put it down. Tomorrow I'll treat the linen before I paint on it. Despite the struggle, I'm pretty happy with this one.

Two Lemons - SOLD
Lemons Revised, Darkened the Table, Added some warmth to the lemons. Better. |
Oil on Linen Panel, 5" x 7"
sold at $20 plus $10 shipping.
Just a couple of lemons this afternoon.
Revised a little on Thursday, added some warmth, and softened the edges in the lemons, and darkened the table top. It had too much white in it. Now I'm happier with it.

D'Anjou Pear with Blueberries - SOLD
Oil on Linen Panel, 7" x 5"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping
I found a nice wooden box, and tried to set the pear up, but it would not stand. The blueberry is actually balancing the pear. I think I made the blueberries a bit too bright, I'll probably tone them down. (And did, this is how the piece looks now.) Didn't the wood come out nicely?

I decided that I needed to rethink my painting. Really consider what is selling for me, what isn't.
Seems to me that (besides sale stuff at really cheap) the best sellers for me are the palette knife paintings, so I wondered if I could tackle a small painting, using a brush as though it were a palette knife, slowly adding color and value shifts. For this one I used very small brushes, so it took awhile, even though it's small. Don't the Kiku apples look real-ish?
I must admit that I've forgotten how to do eBay, it's been so long. Thinking that the listing is pretty impersonal and sparse. It'll get better, promise.Have to get back into the swing of things.
