I actually really like this one. I started with a realistic effort, and then when it wasn't working, began to wipe off the canvas. Halfway through the wipe, I liked what was happening, and decided to "go with the flow" and this is the result. Cool, huh?

Lake Needwood Demo Painting

This morning was an open house, fall kick off at the Chevy Chase Women's Club, and art teachers were well represented. I brought along my plein air gear, and set up for a little demo painting, deciding to do a landscape from a photo rather than a still life (which would have meant hauling along stuff to set up.) This was what resulted.

So it's a sketch in oils, which is also valid. Maybe I'll try it again, take more time. Or maybe I'll just do the sunflowers....
