Standing Pears - SOLD

Standing Pears Oil on Gessoboard, 9" x 12" SOLD at $25.00 plus shipping. This was an old painting that was too thin on the gessoboard; the paint was just slipping all over the board. I put it away, and decided to finish it up today. It's pretty loose, I had to give everything a second coat. Thanks for looking.

Ocean Two - SOLD

Ocean Two Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 12" SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping. A friend of my daughter requested a simple ocean scene, and so I did two and let her pick. This one is a little more lavender than the first one. I don't really feel that I've "got" it yet, but that always takes time and lots of practice.

Goldens on Blue - SOLD

Goldens on Blue Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 12" SOLD The fabric in this paintng is more a blue-green than it shows on my monitor, and maybe yours as well. Almost a deep turquoise. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Simple Seascape - SOLD

Simple Seascape Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 8" SOLD at $15.00 plus shipping. I have been working on a seascape request, and had some lovely colors left over. So today is this little tiny seascape with pink sky and pink sand. Just a quickie.

Two White Roses -- SOLD

White Rose on Stretched Canvas, Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10" - SOLD
White Rose on Gessoboard, Oil on Gessoboard, 8" x 10" - SOLD
Since I had two requests for this little white rose, I decided to do them in tandem. Using different surfaces, I painted them back to back, finishing one step on each one, then moving on. It was interesting to see how differently they turned out, even using the same mixes of colors.
One for Hal and Dawn, one for Holly.

Pomegranates and Apple

Pomegranates and Apple Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10" Available at $70.00 plus shipping. The pomegranates came with cutting and serving suggestions, so we'll see what to do with them today. This is one of my new fabrics, a nice grey green, seafoamy color with a large pattern. This will be the last of the fabric paintings for a bit, as I have a couple of requests to work on next.

Pomegranates on Fabric - SOLD

Pomegranates on Fabric Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10" SOLD at $70.00 plus shipping. Yes, I got new fabric. This pattern was so busy though, that I had to find something with oomph to go atop it. The pomegranates do have such presence that I figured they might work. Red on red is kind of cool, I think. And Happy Birthday to Picasso today (and me, too.)

Goldens and Polka Dots - SOLD

Goldens and Polka Dots Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14" SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping. This one is a bit odd, but when I set it up, what I really liked was all the white and black, not so much the apples. What do you think?

Autumn Walk 2 - SOLD

Autumn Walk 2 Oil on Canvas Panel, 14" x 14" Sold at sale price of $30.00. Same image, different format. Someone mentioned after I posted the other day, "Are you missing New England?" Yes, especially at this time of the year, when the NE falls are so breathtaking. So we'll just paint color, instead of walking in it.

Goldens on Pattern - SOLD

Goldens on Pattern Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10" SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping. I was actually working on another fall scene today, but then remembered from experience that if you do two of a similar painting on two days, the computer for the Daily Painter's Gallery "sees" it as the same painting, and there won't be a "pick up" for that night. So I'll post the fall scene tomorrow. I do like painting golden delicious apples, because of their opaque skin and the soft colors.

The Autumn Walk - SOLD

The Autumn Walk Oil on Canvas Board, 11" x 14" SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping. While I was painting this one, I was thinking about the smells of outdoors in the fall. (In some parts of the country, anyway.) The light here reminded me of it, that balmy air and light of late fall afternoons, when the color is softer and the moist smell of leaves on the ground floats in the air. You know the smell I mean?

Pepper Polka - SOLD

Pepper Polka Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 8" SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping. A single pepper today, on red polka dotted fabric. When I put the spot on this, the red just bounced everywhere, making even the yellow pepper look reddish. Fun painting it.

Peppers and Stripes - SOLD

Peppers and Stripes Oil on Canvas Board, 11" x 14" SOLD at $85.00 plus shipping. I am really pleased with how the peppers turned out on this one. They actually look transluscent in spots, which is what I was seeing, and then the nice little stripe reflections make them look shiny. The striped fabric is fun too, not just a boring backdrop. Thanks for looking.

New Every Morning - NA

New Every Morning Oil on Stretched Canvas, 24" x 24" Not available, revised on 1/19/09 A simple morning landscape with a nice big sky. Every once in awhile, after a bunch of small paintings, which can often be challenging and difficult, it feels good to get out the large brushes and work big. This is one of those.

Transitions - SOLD

Transitions Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10" SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping. I did this little fall scene for a commission, but the requester substituted out another painting, and now this one is up for sale. I'm thinking about the maples as they must be turning or post peak just about everywhere. Thanks for looking.

Funky Pumpkin

Funky Pumpkin Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 8" Available at $35.00 plus shipping. Yes, you're right, what an odd little funky painting. I can't imagine anyone ever making something out of this fabric, a shirt? But it was fun to use as a background.

Whitecaps on the Lake - SOLD

Whitecaps on the Lake Oil on Linen Panel, 9" x 12" SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping. This was originally some pumpkins, but sometimes with painting, what you can do easily one day is impossible the next. I don't know why that is. But the pumpkins got scraped and wiped out, and I grabbed a couple of my reference photos and put this small landscape together instead. The orange leftovers of the pumpkins made a good under tone for the sky, and I like how the little whitecaps just emerged.

Little Pumpkins - NA

Little Pumpkins Oil on Linen Panel, 8" x 10" Not available, overpainted. Small signs of fall, gourds and decorative pumpkins in the grocery stores. No maples turning bright yellow and orange, so we take what we can get. (On the other hand, we are still in shorts and sandals.) This one is done on linen, which is such a treat to work on, but much more expensive than the cotton canvas. Don't you like the subtle color changes in the shadows?

White Tulip for SA - SOLD

White Tulip for SA Oil on Stretched Canvas, 14" x 14" SOLD One of my collectors requested this one, which I've done before at the same size. Interesting that there are never two exactly the same. The drawing may be a bit different, or the gray mix, or even the subtle shapes in the background.

Little White Rose - SOLD

Little White Rose Oil on Canvas Board, 8" x 10" SOLD Done by request, a sweet little white rose.
