Simple Pears
Oil on Canvas mounted on board, 6" x 12"

The D'Anjous looked so good that I had to buy some, and then, of course, I had to paint them. Using up some of my scrap canvas. Thanks for looking.

"Outback" Fall - SOLD
"Outback" Fall
Oil on Canvas Board, 10" x 12"
SOLD at $35.00 plus $5.00 shipping.
You know how people say "Oh, he's out back," when someone is in the backyard? I didn't know what to paint today, so I simply opened the studio door, and painted what is out back, taking some liberties with the landscape. Even overcast, the colors are lovely right now. Thanks for looking.

Big Sister - SOLD
Big Sister
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 20" x 20"
Sold via Ebay
I am delighted with how this one turned out. It shows my two granddaughters, encountering the goats at the petting zoo, during our little apple picking excursion to Hamilton Orchards in New Salem, Massachusetts a couple of weeks ago. I love the way the two girls are standing, little Katie leaning in towards big sis, and Alex with her daring little stance. And the goat obligingly completing the triangle. Thanks, goat. And thank you for looking. (If the piece doesn't sell at auction, I will repost it here.)

Carnations on Black Two - NA
Carnations on Black Two
Oil on Canvas board, 8" x 8"
Not Available
The carnations were still good, so I reset them and tried again. Interesting viewpoint, isn't it? I set them on a folding chair next to me, so I could look sideways and down on them. This one seemed easy, I think sometimes you have to make a painting before you can paint a painting. The second one is almost always easier. Thanks for looking.

One at a Time
Oil on Canvas board, 12" x 16"
Sold at $50.00 plus shipping
This is how the road in front of the house looks right now, brilliant color tree by tree. Fall is a bit late this year, usually by Columbus Day things are at peak. But the weather's been so nice still that we are not complaining. Thanks for looking.
Hamilton Orchard Three - NA
Hamilton Orchard Three
Oil on Canvas board, 10" x 12"
Not Available.
This is actually yesterday's painting, but our internet connection was down last night, and I couldn't post, so putting it up this morning. I worked on a still life that wasn't happening, so did a quick and swishy landscape instead from the same photos of the orchards. I do think my landscape style is evolving into a more daring application of paint, which I like. Thanks for looking.

Risky Apples - SOLD
Risky Apples
Oil on Canvas board, 9" x 12"
Sold at $25.00 plus shipping.
I wanted to try a still life lengthwise and see what happened, and although I really like some of the brushwork, and the colors, the composition is just not good. What an odd piece. Unless we take risks and try new things, though, how would we grow? So I've posted this one, and named it after the sense of risk taking and stretching to grow. Thinking that it might appeal to someone. Thanks for looking.

Hamilton Orchard One - SOLD
Hamilton Orchard One
Oil on Canvas board, 10" x 12"
Sold at $45.00 plus shipping.
This one is done from a photo, since it's been really gusty today. We went apple picking last week, and the kids enjoyed it so much. Hamilton Orchard also has a great little petting zoo, with goats and bunnies to pet. I took photos while they picked, and did these two today from that excursion. Thanks for looking.

The Horse Shed - SOLD
The Horse Shed
12" x 16", Oil on Canvas board
Sold at $75.00 plus shipping.
This is the home of Gracie and Maverick, the neighbor's horses. I sat on the front lawn yesterday and just visible through the changing trees, I saw one or the other of the horses poking their heads out of the door. The colors are really happening now, very fall in the air. (The colors on the left side aren't really this washed out, got some glare in the photo.) Thanks for looking.

Lichen Covered Tree
Oil on Canvas mounted on board

I liked the twists and turns of this lichen covered tree, and the way the dark pines contrasted against the water and sky behind them. On one of my Home Depot scraps covered wih canvas. Thanks for looking.

Red Pears on Green - SOLD
Red Pears on Green
Oil on Canvas board, 10" x 12"
Sold at $65.00 plus shipping.
The red pears again today, even though the outdoors is calling me. (I may still slip out for a bit.) The kids have been asking to eat these, so this will be it on the pears for now. The platform is simply a show box with paper on it, and I liked this olive green with the pears. Thanks for looking.
