The berries at the Natural Foods store were so beautiful and big, I just could not resist.
This one is small, and there is a tiny corner where I didn't paint yet, a dry place to hold the canvas while I painted it. (bottom left) That will be covered as soon as I can handle it.
It was such a gorgeous day today, that after I did my revisions this morning, I gathered my gear and walked to our back alley. (Just in the backyard.) It's the way some folks on Cannon get to their back parking, and I think it's just lovely. (The ditch is where the frogs congregate to serenade at night.)

I'll probably do this one again, without forgetting what I forgot today...bug spray, a hat to keep my hair from getting in my face... I found colors very hard to judge in the shade, looking into the sun.
But had a great time painting.

Lemon with Crease'

Back to cruising the Natural Foods store, picking up things like Hummus and Pesto, yum, and found this unusual lemon, with a crease, which I thought was appealing. A little dramatic lighting, and we're good to go.

I figured out how to photograph purple, a little triumph for me. I only use the yellowish lights I have, the overhead and a couple of yellow lights in my pole lights. I turn off all my daylight bulbs, and voila! I've got purple.
The Downward Glance

I thought I was done with the pears, but I had this Gessobord coated with red/pink tinted Gesso, and wanted to see if I liked the surface better, (I did, it wasn't as slippery)... the pears were handy...so you know how it goes. One more time with these same lovely pears. They're hanging on.
Spring Green Creek

A landscape was just the ticket for today, one with a lot of swish and foliage, and not much detail.
Inspired by all the light and delicate Spring greens out these past couple of weeks.This one is quite soft and quiet.
Strawberries on Patterned Plate

The plate is part of a nice set of bowls and small bread and butter plates that I found at 2nd Avenue, a thrift shop that we loved going to in Laurel. I had intended to do a landscape today, but I was seduced by the berries at the Farmer's Market yesterday, and actually ate the rest before the painting was done. Dark red and juicy all the way thru, so fresh.
Another version of the pears in dramatic light.
I think I've gotten my money's worth out of these sweet pears.
Now to let them ripen completely, and enjoy them!
Purple Iris

Although last week I found s stand of beautiful frilly lavender irises that I will have fun with going forward. Took bunches of photos.
Pears with Drama

I could not see using these lovely pears just once, so here they are again. (They were expensive, organic, from the Natural Foods Store! I looked for lumps and nice stems, an artists' way of picking fruit!) Today I went for drama with these little guys. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

This one is an easy piece, the 3/8" sides, top and bottom are painted, and there is a hanging hole in the back, so you can simply find a place and pop this one a nail in the wall. Easy peasy!
