I have softened the colors in the foreground, lightened the blues in the clouds, and softened the oranges overall. I think this is much more cohesive.

Have you noticed the trees just beginning to turn? Are there leaves on the ground already?
Here in Maryland, we've got signs of fall everywhere, some cool mornings, leaves on the ground, school buses.... Anyway, this is the first of the fall paintings, and there will be more. I love this time of year, in a melancholy way, sad to see it getting dark earlier, sad to know that summer is as good as over.

This one is revised from an earlier piece called Frosted Sunset. I added more orange, and used palette knife work to punch the darks and add more oomph to the trees. Better, I think.

I have some "gold" oil paint, so I used that on the trim. Fun stuff.
