Lemons on Cloth Napkins
Oil on Wood Panel, 5" x 7"
SOLD at $17 plus $10 shipping
Some pretty Sundance organic lemons from the Natural Food Store here in town.
I tried to pick the lumpiest ones I could find, but it didn't really show up here.
I'll try again for good lumpiness.
Thinking Lilacs
Oil on Wood Panel, 6" x 8"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping.
For my delightful cousin B, I did a painting of "beauty berries" recently. Ever heard of these berries? No, I hadn't either. See below for how the painting came out (now that it's been given as a gift, I can show it here.) Anyway, I had a lot of colors mixed, and the piles of paint reminded me of Spring, hence some abstract lilacs. Done with a palette knife.
Three D'Anjou Pears
Oil on Wood Panel, 6" x 8"
Gifted
I took some artistic license with this one, and reduced the size of the first pear on the left. It's actually the size of a mango. In fact, when I first saw it, I thought it was a mango. These guys are so pretty, there may be just one more painting in them. A few dings, which can be hidden in paint, but good, I think, for one more day.
Walking By Amethyst Brook
Oil on Wood Panel, 10" x 10"
Available at $50, with free shipping.
I really like the reference photo for this one, taken by my Amherst friend, B. I think it has an overall mellow yellow feel to it. B. walks sometimes at Amethyst Brook, and sends me lovely photos. Thanks, B.
I liked yesterday's painting, but decided to do something smaller. So just a little snip of the magnolia leaves and a little panel, changed out the cardboard for some green paper, and here we are.
Lemons with Magnolia Sprig

I had spotted a nice magnolia tree on public land along the bike trail, so today for my walk, I took along a clippers and found a coupleof nice sprigs. Don't the leaves look nice with the lemons?
Apple Trio
Oil on Wood Panel, 8" x 8"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping.
Yesterday during my monthly foray to the Food Bank, there were apples! Each recipient got to choose 6 apples, so I picked the prettiest ones I could find, these among them. I'm always happy for the produce.Fore everything, really, but the produce is especially nice.
Around the Bend
Oil on Wood Panel, 12" x 16"
SOLD at $40 plus $10 shipping.
(Pricing at $0.50 per square inch)
Walking downtown today, the in-town maples had turned, and I noticed leaves that were almost neon in their brightness. Gorgeous colors! Like the red-oranges here, so vivid. Other varieties were less flashy, but lovely yellows and browns. Don't you love the fall colors? We are actually almost done here, between the rain and the cold. BUT ....only 5 months until Spring!
Three Bosc Pears
Oil on Gessoed Wood Panel, 4 7/8" x 10"
SOLD at $22.00 plus $10 shipping.
(priced at $0.50 per square inch)
This will be the last of the Bosc series, a sweet and short little series.
Since I've spotted a couple of fruit flies, it's time to slice and eat these guys.
Two Bosc Pears
Oil on Gessoed Wood Panel, 6" x 6"
SOLD at $18 plus $10 shipping.
(priced at $0.50 per square inch)
I used a warmer (more yellow) light today, and these actually look sort of "golden" now.
Interesting, the difference in how things look under different color-leaning lights.
Welcome to my daily painting blog. Here I'll post my efforts to paint one small painting a day, with a little wiggle room by saying five per week. I work primarily in oils these days, but also love my watercolors. I hope you enjoy my work, and as always, your comments are welcome.

And so it has taken me all of sixty years to understand that water is the finest drink, and bread the most delicious food, and that art is worthless unless it plants a measure of splendor in people's hearts. ~ Taha Muhammad Ali ~
