Lots more bird song in the woods behind my apartment, nice, and a few warmer days. That's not much comfort to folks who are still buried in deep piles of snow, but we'll get there.

A recurring theme, I do love painting paths and trails going through woods. I think this one turned out nicely, though in general I feel like I'm in a bit of a slump. It happens, you just paint through it, though a workshop or a new book, or maybe buying a painting video may help give me some new oomph.

Nothing makes a floral pop like a deep, dark background. This one isn't really black, but a mix of dark green and deep purple. Fun to paint.

Since I don't "know" mountains, I don't paint them very often. But I wanted to give a western scene a try, so used a photo reference for this one. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
