Shadows on the Creek - SOLD

Shadows on the Creek
Oil on Canvas Panel, 14" x 18"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.

This may be my favorite version yet of this scene of Rock Creek, here in Maryland.

Simple White Floral - SOLD

Simple White Floral
Oil on Linen Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $20.00 plus shipping.

This is a revision from a February painting that really didn't work. I whitened and simplified and I think it works much better now, in spite of some texture showing through from the original flower.

Tomato Pair - SOLD

Tomato Pair
Oil on Canvas Panel, 5" x 7"
SOLD at $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

Since the little tomato painting from the other day was so popular, I figured I'd do another. Thanks for looking.

Hydrangeas on the Bush - SOLD

Hydrangeas on the Bush
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"
SOLD at $30.00 plus shipping.

Brookside Pond

Brookside Pond
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 18" x 24"
Available at $150.00 plus $15.00 shipping.

This is a pretty big painting of the pond at Brookside Gardens. I've been wanting to try a larger piece of the pond, which I first did plein air, and then a medium sized studio painting. Thanks for looking.

Spring Azaleas - SOLD

Spring Azaleas
Oil on Canvas Panel, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $30.00 plus shipping.

I've always liked this one, from last April, and while searching for another old painting today, ran across it and decided to revive it a bit. Much better now.

Watercolor Play- Stained Glass Irises - SOLD

Watercolor Play - Stained Glass Irises
Watercolor on Arches paper, paper size 12" x 16"
Image size 11" x 15"
SOLD at $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

I really wasn't going to post this one, but then thought, why not? There may be someone out there who likes sloppy, colorful watercolors done just for fun.

Four Peaches Perched - SOLD

Four Peaches Perched
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 16"
SOLD at $40.00 plus $7.00 shipping.

A collector from Georgia wanted peaches, six in a line, one for each of the six people in the family. Isn't that neat? So I have peaches right now, and wanted to paint them again. The colors in peaches are fairly elusive, the mauves and deep red-purples especially, but I'm pretty happy with this one.

Oil Sketch Peony - SOLD

Oil Sketch Peony
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 16"
SOLD at $50.00 plus $10 shipping.

Instead of carefully defining every edge here, I just used oils to sketch this one. Suggesting the edges rather than paintinng each one. What do you think?

Little Tomato Painting - SOLD

Little Tomato Painting

Oil on Gessoed Panel, 6" x 6"

SOLD at $20 plus $5 shipping.

I'm thinking it's sad that grocery store tomatoes are so beautiful, but so tasteless. Gotta find a good roadside farm stand, or an organic grocery store with local tomatoes, I guess. Here's hoping that if you love them, you've found a good source this summer.

Two at Twenty

Sunflower with Mango
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
Available at $20.00 plus $7.00 shipping.

Garden with Wall
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $20.00 plus $10.00 shipping.

I revised the mango and sunflower painting, because admittedly, it was a little too...shall we say "anatomical" ...with the two mangos. The garden with wall is done from some Brookside Garden photos, done for a collector, who decided against it.

White Peony Face - SOLD

White Peony Face
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 18" x 24"
SOLD at $150.00 plus $20.00 shipping to US destinations

This one was done by request from a collector, but may become available.
Hope you're all staying cool.

Apple Fractions 2 - SOLD

Apple Fractions 2
Oil on Canvas Panel, 6" x 8"
SOLD at $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

This one is an older little piece that never got posted. I'm working on a bigger painting, so this is a good day to pop this one up.

Sweet Pepper - SOLD

Sweet Pepper
Oil on Gessoed Panel, 6" x 6"
SOLD at $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

Just a pretty orange pepper today, summer colors.

Layered Landscape - SOLD

Layered Landscape
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $60.00 plus shipping.

This one is layered. First it was the Walled Garden at Brookside, which I scraped off as bext I could, since it was almost dry, then repainted. I wasn't happy with the second painting either, so this got painted on top of that. It now has some neat texture, and some little bits of the underpaintings showing, kind of cool.

Frog Pond 2, Brookside - SOLD

Frog Pond 2, Brookside
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $55.00 plus shipping.

I loved the view at the frog pond at Brookside, and wanted to go again, this time in the air conditioning, and working from my photos. Isn't this one nice?

Woodland Path and A Lesson - SOLD

Woodland Path
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 11" x 14"
SOLD at $60.00 plus shipping.

I had a request from a collector to do a lesson on how to paint a scene like this in a rectangular shape. That lesson is now complete and available. It is basically a printable lesson in a pdf (portable document file) format, which I will email to you. The price of the lesson is $35.00, also the price suggested by the collector.

It is a step by step instructional on how to paint this painting, with color mixing, stages of the painting, and some general tips on "how to." I think you might enjoy it.

Water Lilies, Lake Artemesia

Water Lilies, Lake Artemesia
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 24" x 24"
Available at $200 plus $50 shipping.

Although I like working large, it's a little iffy with the shipping as expensive as it is. At any rate, this large one was done from photos I took at Lake Artemesia, with the light bouncing off the lilies, and one flower showing.

Sunflower and Cherries, Revised

Sunflower and Cherries, Revised Oil on Canvas Panel, 9" x 12"
Available at $45.00 plus shipping.

When I posted this one the other day (June 21) I saw how pale the bowl had gotten. It was actually a blue bowl, but in the photo it looked white. So I added some more blue color to the bowl, and here you go. Another chance for this one to find a home.

Peaches on Napkins

Peaches on Napkins
Oil on Gessoed Panels, 6" x 6"
Available each at $35.00 plus shipping.
Or the set at $65.00 plus shipping.

I wanted to do some peaches, but they seemed so plain just sitting on paper, so I added cloth napkins, to see how that would work. They make a sort of set, I think. With my light shining on them, they smelled so fine while I was painting them.
