I never know what to do about the paintings that really don't turn out. I wonder if professionals just ditch their "dogs" and move on to the next. I know some painters scrape and begin again. But at the end of the day, I figure I'll post for cheap, let you guys decide if it's good enough or not. Tomorrow's another day. Tomorrow is plein air, yay! Going to Brookside Gardens.

I tend to put 'dogs' to one side and come back to them when the mood takes me. I did that with my latest - I put it aside for 4 months and then yesterday, bingo! Inspiration took hold and I figured out how to improve it. A little distance can do a lot of good if you're struggling with a piece - rarely is a painting worth rejecting completely. This one has potential, perhaps try again in a few days?
