When I was at the grocery store the other day, I was looking for daffodils. I think I may have missed them this year, since the only ones they had were pathetic, tiny, frayed at the edges. So I got these guys instead. Not exactly springy, but yellow flowers anyway. I liked the idea of the two directions, like kids being taught to look both ways before crossing.

This is one of the best sunflower paintings I've ever seen. There is a lot of subtle color in here, along with the in-your-face sunshine yellow. I love it!
