I got new canvases from Ray Mar, and wanted to try something with this new size. Since it's snowed here, and this photo just looked so "perfect summer day" (although painting there in August was hot), I used it to try the new format. Doesn't it look peaceful? Thanks for looking.

This is just beautiful. The colors and reflections, very lovely. Barb
Interesting about the linen. I've been using both their portrait and landscape cotton canvas and the landscape is way too rough. I've been coating it with acrylic modeling paste in order to smooth it out a bit. Is the linen much smoother? The water sure looks smooth and peaceful and I love the "widescreen" format of the painting. Lots of room for the ducks to swim in.
