Okay, I really love this one. I really like how the trees turned out; the winter colors of mauve, ochre, sienna and the touch of light at the tops of the pines.  It has a nice quiet mood, a little winter serenity.

This one is a little on the abstract side.
I just like the yellowish glow in the sky, and the sense of the change of seasons.

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in my results. There are very few shapes here, except maybe the snow. The rest is line, line, line, and I thought it would be stunning, with the orange popping thru. And it took hours, with tiny brushes. I mean, it's lovely, but not stunning as I wanted. Hmmm. Goes to show, I guess.

There's quiet here in this one.
But it's sunny as well, so not as desolate as the recent paintings. More crisp.
I like the hard contrast of the very dark trees against the white and light blue.

Another desolate winter scene, but it has some quiet serenity. I am enjoying these almost monochromatic paintings. This one does have touches of pink in the sky and reflections, and some blue in the trees.

I wish that you could see this one in person. The photo does not do it justice, since the colors are so much richer IRL. The orange glow is much more evident. The pines are a nice rich deep, a lovely piece. (If you are a fan of winter paintings, that is.)

This is what the past few days have felt like, especially around 5:00 or so, at sunset.
Deep cold, done with a palette knife. Cleaning off some of the paint leftover on my palette, so I can justify fresh colors. I do like the mood of this little one.

I'm actually pretty happy with this one. I had a piece that I called "Wow! Color" and I always thought it had good bones, so pulled it out, got it on the easel and did some major revisions. I lightened the sky, got rid of most of the lime green, softened the contrast in the dirt road, brought the foliage in closer, added warmth, and gave some definition to the dark area on the right. Better, yes?
