One of my students gave me a lovely flower arrangement today in class, left over from her son's recent wedding. I tried to paint one of the roses, a lovely palest pink color. Baby blush or some similar description. I painted, wiped, scraped, and repeated five times to get something even close. Finally I took my palette knife and turned the mess into a landscape.

Time for a landscape, after some still life work. This is the first time I've put telephone poles in from my photo reference, and I find I like them. Since this one is loose, it can be cropped down to a 14" x 14", or maybe even a 12" x 12."
