Strawberry Grouping
Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10"
SOLD.
This one is a combination of loose and swishy technique and then careful and blended on the berries. I really like the look and feel of painting in the sketchy style, but always want to go back to careful painting. Somewhere between the two is where I am headed. Thanks for looking.

Strawberry Abundance- NA
Strawberry Abundance
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
Not Available, overpainted.
Another unstructured piece, just lay the paint down and leave it. I found some nice fabrics at Hobby Lobby the other day, polka dots and this checkerboard fabric. So I thought I'd try it out here, make the painting more interesting. This one was fun, very direct. Thanks for looking.

What's In the Bag? - SOLD
What's In the Bag?
Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $60.00 plus shipping.
I was looking around for something to put the pears in, so I could take them from the studio to the house, and I found this paper bag. When I packed the pears into it, it was a painting waiting to happen, so I did a quick sketch and liked the effect. Doesn't it look like you've just peeked to see what's in there? Thanks for looking.

Green Bounty - SOLD
Green Bounty (detail below)
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10"
SOLD at $65.00 plus shipping.
I am truly trying to not "blend" on this one. It's hard, because my brush and my hand want to go there. But I really like the look of a painting where you can tell that an artist just put the stroke down and left it be. Or as I tell myself, "Lay it down and leave it!" (little mantra for painters.) I did better on the middle and bottom pears, more painterly. Do you like the look too? Thanks for viewing.

Yellow Bounty - NA
Yellow Bounty
Oil on Canvas Board, 8" x 10"
Not Available.
I am thinking of a series of paintings of "bounty", all bunches of things tumbled together. Red bounty could be strawberries, apples, red peppers. Purple could be a tumbled mess of plums, maybe eggplant. You get the idea. I've got pears next, a bunch ready to go for green. Thanks for looking.

Purple and Blue Iris - SOLD
Purple and Blue Iris
Watercolor on Watercolor Paper, 140 lb CP, 13" x 19" image area
SOLD at $100.00 plus shipping.
This one is actually pretty big, for a watercolor, half sheet size. And the colors, much more intense than what I usually use. But the photo I had from a friend in Kate Johnson's alumni group was deep, shadowed and beautiful (thanks, Hannah) so I went with the blue and turquoise. Turned out nicely, I think. Thanks for looking.

Delaware Sunrise Three - SOLD
Delaware Sunrise Three
Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping.
Some of you will recognize this one, as being on my business card. This is the third time I have painted it, and I still enjoy the image. It's a photo I snapped on a sunrise trip to the ocean a couple of summers ago. Along with the irises, it's almost like a signature painting. Thanks for looking.
Light Play Revised - SOLD
Light PLay Revised
Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 16"
SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping.
One that was too yellow, I guess. I played around with it today, and sometimes it's just fun to overpaint one that hasn't sold and isn't precious, as is. It looks more interesting now, and more refined. Thanks for looking.

Sorolla Study - Claimed
Sorolla Study
Oil on Canvas Board, 12" x 16"
Claimed.
I haven't seen any painters do beach light and white clothing like Sorolla did. His work is stunning. I'm especially intrigued with how he did white clothes. So it was good to really, really look at a small section of a painting called Esplanade du Phare, Biarritz. It's good training to have to analyze the colors and the brushwork. Thanks for looking.

Floral Abstract - NA
Floral Abstract Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
Not available.
I've been working slowly on two careful paintings (another peony watercolor, and another gnarly tree painting) for folks who requested them, so this one was intended to be just loose and swishy. The colors gave me some trouble though, so it turned out to be more tricky than I intended. In the end though, I do like it. Thanks for looking.

Take Out
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 9" x 12"
SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping.
I've had these sitting on the shelf for awhile now, and finally decided to play with them today. It's mostly about the paint, not so much the drawing. I'll probably try these again with a different focus, they were fun to do. Thanks for looking.

Twin Oaks Sunset - SOLD
Twin Oaks Sunset
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 16" x 20"
SOLD at $85.00 plus $15.00 shipping.
I had to drive to Twin Oaks twice to catch the sunset between the trees, but it was worth it. Huge old gracious trees, spreading to the ground. I imported the Louisiana cows into the foreground. But they like this spot too, I think. Thanks for looking.
