Fruit Bowl, Apples and Red Pears
Oil on Canvas Board, 12" x 16"
Sold at $100 plus shipping.
I had this one set up, and started it in a typical horizonatl format, and then half way through the drawing, I decided it would fit the canvas better in a vertical shape. I just love the colors of the dark pears and light apples together. Against all that wonderful blue, and I really like how this one turned out. Especially for a fairly large canvas. Thanks for looking.

Winter Study after E Tolley - Claimed
Winter Study after Elizabeth Tolley
Oil on Canvas board, 10" x 12"
Claimed for Reimbursement for $20, includes shipping.
I am still studying Elizabeth Tolley's work, and this is a loose copy of a winter painting she did, with some changes. The color palette and brushwork is copied directly, as closely as I could. I am offering it for materials reimbursement only, and shipping is included. Don't you love her colors? Thanks for looking.

Red Pears, Blue Plate - SOLD
Red Pears, Blue Plate
Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10"
Sold at $60 plus shipping.
This was an experiment over the last two evenings (more mural work today, almost done). I had heard of folks painting oils over acrylics, and it makes sense, since you can lay down an underpainting rather quickly in acrylics, and then the transparent colors in oil are easier to manage. This went quickly in oils, since I had the underpainting done last evening. Thanks for looking.

Simple Overlook - SOLD
Simple Overlook
Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 16"
Sold at $50 plus shipping.
I just painted today. Nothing to struggle with, nothing to match colors with, just let the image come along, and this is what evolved. (I know, definitely a recurring theme, the pastoral overlook, patchwork fields, distant mountains.) I can see, now that I've got it small and cropped, that it needs a little tweaking, but by and large, it's pleasing. Thanks for looking.
Limes on Blue - NA
Limes on Blue
Oil on Canvas Board, 8" x 8"
Not Available..
This was a painting done in November, and although the limes were interesting enough, the background was a little "much" in red. So I changed it today to a blue background, and left the brushmarks loose. It looks much better. Thanks for looking.

Mieke's Deck January - SOLD
Mieke's Deck January
Oil on Raphael Linen Panel, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.
Sometimes the late afternoon, early evening skies in winter are so beautiful, I had to go and get my camera for this one. Just a hint of snow blue still visisble on the ground, but the rest was all glorious sky. View from my daughter's back deck. I think I misued this lovely linen panel though, it probably should have been saved for a more exacting subject (very nice smooth tooth.) Thanks for looking.

Cyclamen - SOLD
Cyclamen
Watercolor on 300 lb Cold Press Strathmore Gemini Paper
13" x 17"
Sold at $60.00 plus shipping.
I love cyclamen in the winter time, with their delicate pink flowers. They add so much to a windowsill. This painting wasn't as much fun to do, because of the paper. This is not my favorite paper, although it gets rave reviews by some watercolorists. I'm happy enough with the results to be satisfied, but next time, I'm back to Arches. Thanks for looking.

Small Woodland Scene - SOLD
Lemons Watercolor - SOLD
Lemons Watercolor
9" x 12" on Arches Watercolor Paper
SOLD at $20.00 plus shipping.
A quick little waterclor study for yesterday, done last night when it was deliciously quiet in the house. My Elements program was being wonky, so I couldn't post. The computer needed a sleep, as did I. Thanks for looking.

January Tulips - SOLD
January Tulips
Watercolor on Saunders Waterfor 140 lb Cold press Paper, 17.5" x 21.5"
Sold at $100.00 plus $15.00 shipping
This one is large and I think it turned out really nice. On Sunday, I took my friend Carol, who doesn't drive, to a fancy spanking new grocery store, and couldn't resist some "fancies" like the tart from yesterday, and these tulips. The droop factor was from sitting in the back of the van in the cold most of the day, but they've perked and straightened right up, gorgeous! Nice that someone else besides me can now enjoy them too! Thanks for looking.

Silver/Black Ink with Watercolor on Hot Press Watercolor Paper, 10" x 10"
Available at $30.00 plus shipping.
There's something so free and committed at the same time, working with bamboo or reed pens. The line is broad and funky, and it was fun using the silver ink with black mixed in. Once it's down, it's down, and you have to be sketchy with it, there's no changing your mind. Thanks for looking.

Little Tart SOLD
Little Tart
Acrylic on Canvas Panel, 6" x 6"
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping.
This one is tiny. I knew I only had a short while to paint today, so tackled a small canvas and a fairly easy subject. Had it all done and ready to take pictures this afternoon, and it did a swan dive, head first into the palette. At that point, I had to clean it up, and walk away until after bedtime for the kids, to make repairs. It cleaned up farily well with the acrylics. Thanks for looking.

Two Mangoes - SOLD
Two Mangoes
Watercolor on Hot Press 140 lb Waterford Paper, 10" x 10"
Sold at $15 plus $5 shipping.
I'm not crazy about hot press paper, it's so smooth that it doesn't feel like it has a "grip" to it. But since it's what I had handy, I tried getting the wonderful colors of these two mangoes. It's very simple, but I figured someone might like the colors. Thanks for looking.
Sprouting Garlic Two - SOLD

Garlic Sketch with Bamboo Pen - SOLD
Garlic Sketch with Bamboo Pen
10" x 10", Watercolor, Bamboo pen, Walnut Ink on Hot Press 140 lb paper
SOLD at $30 plus $5 shipping.
I don't generally like hot press paper, but the bamboo pen with walnut ink was a dream to work with on this paper (Saunders Waterford). It had just enough scratch and drag to make it feel good. I also really like the marks from the bamboo pens. Thanks for looking.
Garlic Bulb Sprouting - SOLD
Garlic Bulb Sprouting
7" x 7", Watercolor on 140 lb Twin Rocker Rough Paper
Sold at $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping
I sat up late last night and did a couple of pieces with watercolor and other things (watercolor pencils, bamboo pens and ink) to have to post this morning. It was a delight to do these little guys. Thanks for looking.

Oranges in the Bag - SOLD
Oranges in the Bag
Watercolor with red ink on Watercolor Paper
10" x 14"
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping.
Isn't this a fun one? My daughter bought a large bag of oranges, since the kids are orange happy right now, and they were sitting on the kitchen counter. Looking so round and bright. So I decided to quick do a watercolor before they got into them (as soon as I was done, of course.)
This will be a sporadic week for paintings, since the kids (my daughter and sil) are gone to Italy, and I'm with the children. I don't anticipate much painting time, except perhaps for small watercolors that I can do in the kitchen during nap time. Thanks, as always, for looking, and for the encouraging words, and of course, the purchases.
Floral Watercolor - SOLD
Paperwhites with Purple Ink
8" x 13", Watercolor and Ink on Watercolor Paper
Sold at $20 plus shipping.
This was to be paperwhites, from bulbs I picked up at the grocery store, but I forgot that the purple ink was water soluble, and it bled, of course. So the paperwhites aren't paperwhites anymore. Just a little floral. Thanks for looking.

Winter Creek Sunset - SOLD
Winter Creek Sunset
12" x 16", Acrylic on Canvas board
Sold at $80 plus shipping
Can you feel how cold the water would be if you were to touch it? A few lingering leaves in the trees, and lots of leaves on the ground. Done from a photo that I took in Maryland and have used before, but I love the image, so here it is again. Thanks for looking.
