I thought I'd try a gouache on the canvas, see how it worked. The blending is more tricky than on paper, maybe because of the canvas weave texture? I'm not sure. I do like being able to paint in the background.

    Lovely painting! Do you still like painting with gouache on a canvas panel? Is there not too much "tooth?" Would it be better to gesso and sand it first?

    Yes, it would be better to gesso and sand. I like the results of gouache on paper better. See April 13th, 14th or 15th, 2015. Those are all on paper. MUCH easier. Have fun with it! Nel
