The azaleas are in beautiful bloom right now in Maryland, and the colors are stunning. I see them in the neighborhoods, everywhere. This is an imaginary landscape with some of the spring bloom colors tapped in. Isn't it nice?

I don't do buildings very well, so it's good to practice and work on getting better at architecture, all that perspective and all those straight lines.

 Sitting on a friend's back deck, looking out over the suburban backyards, dogwoods in bloom, and afternoon sunshine. This one is actually nicer than the photo shows, lots of good contrast, lots of that lovely young green.

Light Play Landscape - SOLD

I had some lovely red peppers all set up to paint, but once I got sketching them, decided that today was instead an easy and fun little imaginary landscape. Just wanted to swish some paint on the canvas. With landscapes, where I really want to learn is how to paint light and air. Pushing in that direction anyway.

Spring Forest - NA

Spring Forest Oil on Stretched Linen, 11" x 14" Not available, see revised version 4/28/10. I always think it's a treat to paint on linen, but I forget to take advantage of it's fine properties, and wind up painting as I normally would. One of these days I'll remember to paint something fine and careful on linen.
