Chickadees - SOLD
Chickadees
Acrylic on Gessoed Illustration Board, 10" x 22"
Sold
I have decided to put birdies above the powder room door as part of my mural work, and so wanted to paint some patterns today, for positioning and color. There will be a fifth one, but he's flying and wouldn't fit. My daughter saw these little guys and wanted them. I thought she meant in the house, above one of her doors, and she said "No, Mom, Those!" So they are sold. Thanks for looking.

Wrapped Grapefruit
Wrapped grapefruit
Acrylic on Canvas board, 11" x 14"
Available at $75.00 plus shipping.
When we go grocery shopping, I generally look for beautiful fruits to draw, but I actually bought these because they were heavy and juicy looking. (Don't you crave a good grapefruit in the winter?) But one of the EDM (Everyday Matters, a wonderful Yahoo group) drawing challenges was to draw something in celophane or plastic wrap, and when I saw these sitting in their bag on the kitchen counter, I decided to try them. The glazing worked well for these. Thanks for looking.

Red Pears with Pumice Gel - SOLD
Red Pears with Pumice Gel
Acrylic on Canvas Board, painted with Pumice Gel, 8" x 10"
Available at $60.00 plus shipping.
On 24 hour HOLD.
I ordered the wrong pumice gel from the art supply store, and decided to try it out anyway. I wanted the fine, but ordered the coarse. I've tried the fine before, and it doesn't really show in the acrylic paint, just adds body. As you can see from the photo, the coarse pumice does show, but it also adds interest. Thanks for looking.

Little Hillside - SOLD
Little Hillside
Acrylic on Canvas board, 8" x 10"
Sold at $50.00 plus shipping.
Continuing with the pastoral landscape practice in acrylics, I did this little guy today. I really like the implied cloud shadow on the moutain, and the colors of the mountains in general. Assorted photos and some imagination. Thanks for looking.

Red Pears in Square - SOLD
Red Pears in Square
Acrylic on Canvas Panel, 8" x 8"
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping.
Acrylic Mediums are my friend. It's just a matter of playing with them, in combination with each other and my new Stay-Wet palette, seeing what can happen. So much of learning a new art medium is experimenting until you figure it out. Half play and half frustration, until you "get it." Thanks for looking.

Valley View - SOLD
Valley View
Acrylic on Stretched Canvas, 22" x 28"
Sold at $150.00 plus $20 shipping.
This is the second sectional painting for my mural work. Hitched together, the two paintings look something like this, which I'm pretty sure will work for the main area I'll be working on, with adjustments for hill lines and color tones.
If you are interested in purchasing this one, please be aware that I'll be holding on to it as a model for the mural, which is coming up in a week or so. Thanks for looking.

Julia's Water Lilies - SOLD
Julia's Water Lilies
Acrylic on Canvas board, 12" x 16"
Sold at $115.00 plus shipping.
My young second cousin, Julia, asked her Dad to send me some beautiful photos of water lilies, and I've been wanting to paint them. I also purchased some glazing medium for my acrylics, and the water seemed like a great chance to try out glazing. There are probably 15-20 coats of glaze in some parts of the water, and lots of glazes on the leaves as well. It's a beautiful but painstaking way to paint. But oh, what jewel tones you can get! Thanks for looking.
