My young second cousin, Julia, asked her Dad to send me some beautiful photos of water lilies, and I've been wanting to paint them. I also purchased some glazing medium for my acrylics, and the water seemed like a great chance to try out glazing. There are probably 15-20 coats of glaze in some parts of the water, and lots of glazes on the leaves as well. It's a beautiful but painstaking way to paint. But oh, what jewel tones you can get! Beautiful...and hard to believe it's acrylic.
