Until one of my collectors asked about peonies, I completely forgot them. The blooming season here is pretty much done, the blooms I could find were almost over. But I did remember that way back when I had drawn out a very detailed painting and still had it somewhere. I found it and finished the painting, which I had begun. The edges of the paper are storage-worn and there are a couple of nicks beyond the image area, but I decided that it was worthwhile finishing, the rendering was so complete, drawn from a bunch of blooms from Maryland, probably my mother's garden. These are ecstatically extremely superbly beautiful! Whooeee! That's great that it was still in good enough shape to finish and what a masterpiece!
