Village Views: Across the Road - SOLD

Village Views: Across the Road, in Snow
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD

I took advantage of the pack of snow and a brilliantly sunny day to snap some photos. This is just across the road from the trailer where I am living now. The "popcorn tree" was covered with snow, and looked like an spring tree in bloom. Just lovely!

Don't forget to Spring Forward tonight! (Either that, or be late for church!)

A Corner of Winter - SOLD

A Corner of Winter
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $15 plus $10 shipping.

These are today's colors, while icicles drip and the sun does it's work outside, melting our pack of snow.
And a little "village view" below. The tree looks like it's in bloom with snow.

Simple Serene - SOLD

Simple Serene
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping.

It was time. My Elizabeth Tolley book had been missing for a long time, and of course, I didn't remember who I lent it to. But just before the move, it came back to me. I'd been itching to go thru a painting once again, to relearn her color mixes. I did not remember them all. Isn't this a sweet one? Using ET's steps and color mixes.

That Certain Light - SOLD

That Certain Light
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 16" x 20"
SOLD.

This one would be plain without the dramatic stream of light, which is what I was attracted to in the reference photo. A little drama in the sky, and that certain light, late afternoon.

Egret Taking Flight - SOLD

Egret
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $20 plus $10 shipping.

The challenge this week at DPW is to try to capture the "spirit" of a bird, and the photo provided was my reference for this guy. You've probably seen them, the big shwoosh that gets them up and going.

The Shoveler, Village Views 1 - SOLD

The Shoveler
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD

This is number one of what I plan to make into a series called "Village Views," since the trailer park is really so like a tiny village. There is a church near enough that I was able to walk to the service yesterday, and a couple at church who also live here in the park gave me a ride home. There is a little convenience store, with a PO in one corner, to which I can also walk. This guy was chopping at some ice chunks with his shovel, and we spoke, but he didn't catch me snapping his photo. Of course, there are many more trailers than I've shown here, but you get the idea.
