I did some revisions on this one from yesterday; changed the shape of the mountain, enlarged the trees on the left. changed the line of light trees in the back, this and that. I think it looks more balanced now.

Isn't this one nice? I guess I am partial to the subtle loveliness of the winter colors, though don't you just love the fall as well? Since it's dark now, the photo isn't quite correct (room lights) but this one has a really pretty blue in it. I'll post a daylight photo tomorrow.

For me, the Gouache seems to work best in small dabs, where lots of blending isn't needed.
The "leafy" landscapes seem most successful.
I used the same reference for the July 4th scene, and I like both results.

It felt good to paint again today, after a pretty big clean-up post Missy Kayla's visit (my 7 year old granddaughter). We had a great time, she really enjoyed VBS (Vacation Bible School) and even though all the grown ups were exhausted afterwards, I'd do it again next year in a heartbeat.

Isn't this one nice? I took my time, spent two days on it, it "feels" summer-ish to me.

So far we've picked out "Hot Cross Buns" and "Twinkle, Twinkle" , so much fun. (Well, with help from the online free piano lessons.)
