Garden Hydrangeas - SOLD
Garden Hydrangeas
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD.
I'm pretty happy with this one. I think it's my best hydrangea painting this season.
The lavender blues are from my own yard.

Sunflowers
Watercolor on Arches CP 300 lb paper, 25" x 19.5"
SOLD
And from the collector, here's the watercolor framed.
Beautifully framed, yes?
Glazed Sunflowers - SOLD
Glazed Sunflowers
Acrylics on Canvas Panel, 12" x 16"
SOLD.
I thought we would do sunflowers today, and I was set up to paint, but my private student forgot, so I painted these guys anyway. (Procrastinating on a large watercolor....) A lot of the flowers themselves were done with acrylic glazes.

Hydrangea Variety - SOLD
Hydrangea Variety
Oil on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
SOLD.
These are still the same hydrangeas from my brother's yard, but I used a bit of artistic license, and pushed the more lavender stems into purples. These have more shadow in them, so the painting is a little more dramatic. I am liking the orangy background as well.

Seascape, Two Versions - SOLD
Seascape, Version One
Acrylics on Canvas Panel, 9" x 12"
SOLD.
Seascape, Version Two
Acrylics on Canvas Panel, 11" x 14"
SOLD.
I thought we would try a seascape in class this week, so did it twice, to clarify the steps. I am trying the trick from Johannes where you use Super Heavy Gesso for the white, instead of Titanium White paint. It works great, by the way, and if you work in acrylics, and have an art store close by, I'd say Try it.
Which color version do you like better? And do you like the foam over the rock or behind the rock?

Hydrangeas from my Brother's Yard - SOLD
Hydrangeas from my Brother's Yard
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD.
Since both my nieces, E and N, claimed that the hydrangea bushes in my brother's yard were theirs, I decided to avoid the naming issue entirely. It's definitely hydrangea season in Maryland, they are gorgeous and everywhere right now. Thanks for the clippings, D. I found a nice sports drink jug to put them in.
Sunflowers, Warm and Bright - SOLD
Sunflowers, Warm and Bright
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD.
I had started this on Saturday, and then was away for the weekend, enjoying festivities with my family (oh, what a lovely time) so my sunflowers pretty much died. I had enough of a start, though, to be able to finish this one up, all warm and sunny. It's my favorite of the sunflower series.
