Nothing makes a floral pop like a deep, dark background. This one isn't really black, but a mix of dark green and deep purple. Fun to paint.

Since I don't "know" mountains, I don't paint them very often. But I wanted to give a western scene a try, so used a photo reference for this one. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

It turned out elegantly, I think, but then, magnolias are elegant. I love their leaves.

I put on the church channel and just listened, and painted without thinking about the painting, and voila.
