I did this one as a demo at class, and wasn't thrilled with the results. But then, I wasn't keen on the plein air piece from Brookside either, and the response to that one has been surprising. Hmm. So I decided I'd post this one, and see what you all think. The azaleas were gorgeous that day, and it was clear and bright. A few of my ladies did try their hand at plein air.

I'm happy with this one. It has a good mood to it, sunny, fresh. I like the rocks, which have nice shadow colors, I think. It's one of my favorite subjects.

What a glorious day to be out painting. I sat in the shade across the path from my fellow painter, and watched 10 little goslings follow their parents around, into the water, then out and up the hill, then back, and repeat. So cute. Before I eat these pears, I figured I'd better paint them. It's been a rainy week here, lots of showers, seems like on a daily basis. Not a good week to get outdoors to paint.

This one will be continued around the sides, top and bottom, so needs no frame. Of course, this kind of canvas is more expensive to begin with, and costs a bit more, weight wise to ship. But there's no fuss when it arrives, it just pops onto the wall.
