I always liked the composition of this one, but I had not gessoed the linen before painting on it, so the paint was thin and slick. The little one, Katie Grace, decided they looked good too, and she asked for one. We let her have it after she ate all her chicken at dinner, and oh, what a face. Then all the other grandkids got into the puckering, such fun. Good giggles over a lemon.

I was just in the mood to use some purples, blues and magenta, and found a nice iris photo in my collection that squared up well, so here's the result. Good change of pace once in awhile to use a smooth surface, which the gessoed board is, without canvas mounted to it.

This started out life as a rose, but oh, my it was ugly, so I scraped it all down after about 2 hours of futile wok, and turned it into a loose landscape. It's not so much the subject, but the colors and textures on this one that could be appealing. No frame needed, painted all around the edges.
