New Every Morning - NA
New Every Morning
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 24" x 24"
Not available, revised on 1/19/09
A simple morning landscape with a nice big sky. Every once in awhile, after a bunch of small paintings, which can often be challenging and difficult, it feels good to get out the large brushes and work big. This is one of those.

Transitions - SOLD
Transitions
Oil on Canvas Panel, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping.
I did this little fall scene for a commission, but the requester substituted out another painting, and now this one is up for sale. I'm thinking about the maples as they must be turning or post peak just about everywhere. Thanks for looking.

Whitecaps on the Lake - SOLD
Whitecaps on the Lake
Oil on Linen Panel, 9" x 12"
SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping.
This was originally some pumpkins, but sometimes with painting, what you can do easily one day is impossible the next. I don't know why that is. But the pumpkins got scraped and wiped out, and I grabbed a couple of my reference photos and put this small landscape together instead. The orange leftovers of the pumpkins made a good under tone for the sky, and I like how the little whitecaps just emerged.

Little Pumpkins - NA
Little Pumpkins
Oil on Linen Panel, 8" x 10"
Not available, overpainted.
Small signs of fall, gourds and decorative pumpkins in the grocery stores. No maples turning bright yellow and orange, so we take what we can get. (On the other hand, we are still in shorts and sandals.) This one is done on linen, which is such a treat to work on, but much more expensive than the cotton canvas. Don't you like the subtle color changes in the shadows?

Southern Gentleman - SOLD
Southern Gentleman
Watercolor on AquaBorad, 8" x 10"
SOLD at $50.00 plus shipping.
Detail Below
The Aquaboard was on half price sale, so I thought I'd get a few pieces and see once again about painting with watercolor on this surface. Apparently once I spray a finish on it, you can frame it without glass, as you would an oil or acrylic painting. It's very different from painting on paper, but I imagine you would get used to it. Not bad, just different.
This is a loose interpretation of an old friend, from the side of the Rice box, you know who. I thought this might be a good surface for a portrait, and he was handy.
