Bridge View Two, 16" x 20"
Oil on Stretched Canvas with depth 1.5"
SOLD (Revised) at $80.00 plus $20.00 shipping.
Because this canvas is larger (than yesterday's canvas), I was able to include more detail. I also changed the sky from yesterday's version. I darkened the rocks, and added more light branches on the left. I think they both come close to how I want to paint. Thanks for looking.

View from the Bridge - SOLD
View from the Bridge
Oil on Canvas board, 12" x 16"
Sold at $65.00 plus shipping.
This is a neat view from the bridge which connects Barre with South Barre, the locals would know it by how long it was closed for construction. I loved the way the light was skimming just the top half of the trees, and the wonderful yellow orange reflection from one tree in the back. Thanks for looking.

Sliced Apple - SOLD
Sliced Apple
10" x 10", Oil on Canvas board, Sold at $55.00 plus shipping.
This one was just plain fun to paint today, after doing a color study that won't be for sale. I like the little reflection on the plate between the apples. I will fix the top curve of the plate before I send it off (looks too eggish.) Thanks for looking.

Tree with Barn - SOLD
Tree with Barn
Oil on Canvas board, 8" x 8"
Sold at $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping.
There are some days when there's so much going on that you're lucky to get a small painting done. I knew it was going to be one of those days, so just did this small study with the new palette colors I've been using. I've painted this tree before, it's a lovely old one-sided tree at the top of a hill, with a shape you don't get tired of seeing. Thanks for looking.

Red Romes - SOLD
Red Romes
Oil on Canvas board, 10" x 10"
Sold at $50.00 plus shipping.
A small change of pace today. I saw these big fat apples in the market, and knew I wanted to paint them. Apples are actually hard to paint, with all their colors and reflections, but I like how these came out. Thanks for looking.

Backlit Trees - SOLD
Backlit Trees
Oil on Canvas board, 12" x 16"
Sold at $70.00 plus shipping.
The daylight hours are beginning to dictate my painting time, since I take my photos outside. Using the Elizabeth Tolley colors again, which I really love, and a photo of my daughter's house through the trees in the front. I've tried to catch some of the backlit sparkle that happens in late afternoon this time of year. Thanks for looking.

Autumn Serene - SOLD
Autumn Serene
12" x 16", oil on Canvas board
Sold at $85.00 plus shipping
After doing two practice pieces, exercise paintings from my new study book (fabulous!) Oil Painter's Solution Book: Landscapes, by Elizabeth Tolley, a California painter whom I have long admired (I saw that she had a book out and scooped it up!), I did this one from one of my own photos. I used some of the techniques and color mixes that I'd learned from her book. The practice pieces turned out beautifully, and I'll show them on my skech blog. Isn't this lovely, it's the road leading to my daughter's home, minus the houses. Thanks for looking.
