The only thing blooming right now in my daughter's yard are bushes, so I cut a sprig and really like the leaves, with their edges of red and the way the light catches them. Forsythia in Bloom

Back to my new favorite old farm, and found a nice bunch of forsythia in bloom, and this enormous old pine tree. The abandoned house is one of those telescoping kind, part brick and part clapboard.
