From a real Hydrangea - SOLD

From a real Hydrangea Oil on Linen Panel, 9" x 12" SOLD at $60.00 plus $5.00 shipping I was in the grocery store yesterday for coffee, and they had two gorgeous hydrangea plants, so I totally splurged and bought one. I am hoping that it'll take in my little garden this spring. The tag says that if the soil is alkaline, it will turn pink, isn't that interesting? And acid soil will keep it blue.

Sky Play - SOLD

Sky Play Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12" SOLD at $40.00 plus shipping. Since I had a lot of "autumn" colors leftover from the fall painting yesterday, I decided to do a sky with pastels of the reds, oranges and yellows. A little made up scene, didn't the sky turn out nicely?

Fall Surround 2 - SOLD

Fall Surround 2 Oil on Stretched Canvas, 16" x 20" SOLD at $80.00 plus $15.00 shipping. This is the second painting from the reference photo I borrowed from my student. It has a different sort of flavor from the first one, posted earlier this past week. I used more blue in this one, less sienna, and the rocks on this one I did with a palette knife. Gotta love the fall colors, even if it is February!

Irises Watercolor 2011 - SOLD

Irises Watercolor 2011
Watercolor on 300 lb Arches paper, full sheet, 22.5" x 30"
SOLD at $125.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Detail below.

My first iris watercolor of the year. This is a pretty big painting, took 3 days to get it done. It does have some presence. If you're a fan of these colors, I think you'll be pleased with the watercolor in person.

Spring Splash Hydrangea - SOLD

Spring Splash Hydrangea Oil on Stretched Canvas, 10" x 10" SOLD at $35.00 plus $5.00 I am actually working on a large iris watercolor for the past few days, but it takes some time, so meanwhile here's a small hydrangea painting for my daily post. I added a new color to this one, light, soft yellow. It adds, I think.
