Bouquet for Lillian - SOLD

Bouquet f0r Lillian Oil on Canvas Panel, 16" x 20" SOLD to Lillian I bought this glorious bouquet from Goldsmith's Florist in Barre. It's so big that I couldn't even fit the whole thing in here, and the whole time I was painting, there was a wonderful fresh fragrance from the lillies. It's by request, but the buyer has the option of not getting it. If not, I'll put it up for sale tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

I wasn't finished with this one for more than five minutes before my models were washed, dipped in sugar and consumed by the grandkids. (Yes, I removed the bad ones from yesterday.) Please see the next post for the beginning of my moving sale. Good to clear out old paintings before trekking from Massachusetts to Lake Charles, Louisiana, come mid June. Thanks for looking.

Strawberries - SOLD

Strawberries Oil on Canvas Board, 6" x 8" SOLD at $45.00 plus shipping. We had strawberries and cream for dessert last night and I managed to save some out from the hungry munchkins, who adores strawberries. A nice pile on a plate, but they may have "cooked" a bit in the strong light. No good for eating, I'll have to paint them again. Thanks for looking.

Birch Grouping - SOLD

Birch Grouping Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 16" SOLD at $20.00 plus shipping. Another study copy, from a painting by Michael Gibbons, in the book How Did You Paint That, Volume 1, Landscapes. The birches were not in the original painting, but otherwise, I tried to study his brushwork and colors. I especially liked the way he handled the pines in sunlight, and will try to use this technique in my own landscape work. Thanks for looking.

Abstracted Iris Watercolor - SOLD

Abstracted Iris Watercolor
Watercolor on 300 lb Arches Cold Press Paper, 20" x 30"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.

This is a large painting on paper, and will need matting, glass and frame, being a watercolor. It is a loose copy of a watercolor by Leslie Gerstman from a book of floral paintings called The Best of Flower Painting, edited by Kathryn Kipp. I wanted to study the wonderful style of floral painting, and was able to do that here. The cost is low, just to cover my time and materials, but it's a wonderful opportunity for someone to have a lovely transparent painting at a low cost. Thanks for looking.

The Picnic Spot - SOLD

The Picnic Spot Oil on Canvas Panel, 12" x 16" SOLD at $80.00 plus shipping. The ideal picnic spot, but of course, no damp grass, no prickers and no bugs. A lovely view of the lake, and plenty of sunshine. No, it's not real, but isn't it pretty? Thanks for looking.

Haunted House - SOLD

Haunted House
Oil on Masonite with Gesso, 11.75" x 10"
SOLD.

It was such a gorgeous Saturday that I tromped through the weeds and tall grasses (made a path for myself) to the back field behind this old house, which the kids call the "Haunted House" because it's abandoned and interesting and part of it is falling down. It's such a cool old house. I've tried to paint it before, but this is the first successful attempt. Thanks for looking.
