Iris Sectional One - SOLD

Iris Sectional One
Oil on Stretched Canvas, 12" x 12"
SOLD at $75.00 plus shipping.
I really do like doing these square formats with portions of flowers showing. They seem so comfortable to do, rich colors, sensual forms. I do expect to do more of them. Thanks for looking.

Portrait Party Swap

Jana in Green T watercolor on 300 lb Richeson Paper NFS My first watercolor portrait, and even though it doesn't exactly match the photo, it has a nice feel to it. This is Jana Bouc, one of the artists I've come to know a bit through EDM. We are participating in a Portrait Party Birthday Contest on the Portrait Party Swap blog. What fun. You can see Jana's portrait of me, on her blog, and although it's done as a caricature, it feels like me. Anyone can participate, so if you're interested, the instructions are on the Portrait Party blog, and all you need is a willing partner.

Red Tulips Two - SOLD

Red Tulips Two Watercolor on 140 lb Arches watercolor paper, 14.5" x 19" image size SOLD at $100 plus shipping. This one was done on thinner pape, which needed soaking, stretching and stapling, so the image size is smaller, but there's plenty of stapled paper to work with for matting and framing. Paper size is 15" x 21.5", or half sheet size. This is the more formal, straightforward version of the same tulips as yesterday, from a sitting viewpoint. I've posted the two side by side in the next post. Thanks for looking.

Side By Side

Just kind of fun to see the two watercolors together.

Red Tulips One - SOLD

Red Tulips One Watercolor on 300 lb watercolor paper, 15" x 22.5" SOLD at $100 plus shipping. My oldest grandson, Jimmy, aged 9, was shopping with the family, and noticed the tulips. He asked his Mom if he could bring them home for me, knowing how I love flowers. Wasn't that thoughtful? I drew out two, and this is the first. This is the stand up version. I'll try to finish the second one today, which is the same vase from a sitting viewpoint. Thanks for looking.

Garlic Oil Sketch - SOLD

Garlic Oil Sketch Oil on Canvas Board, 6" x 8" SOLD This one was just about the technique. I wanted to try paint layers in the background and foreground, letting them mingle. It worked for the background pretty well, you can see the underpainting showing through. For the rest, it's simply a swishy sketch, and if anyone likes it, please just email me and make an offer. Thanks for looking.
