Valley View - SOLD

Valley View Acrylic on Stretched Canvas, 22" x 28" Sold at $150.00 plus $20 shipping. This is the second sectional painting for my mural work. Hitched together, the two paintings look something like this, which I'm pretty sure will work for the main area I'll be working on, with adjustments for hill lines and color tones. If you are interested in purchasing this one, please be aware that I'll be holding on to it as a model for the mural, which is coming up in a week or so. Thanks for looking.

Julia's Water Lilies - SOLD

Julia's Water Lilies Acrylic on Canvas board, 12" x 16" Sold at $115.00 plus shipping. My young second cousin, Julia, asked her Dad to send me some beautiful photos of water lilies, and I've been wanting to paint them. I also purchased some glazing medium for my acrylics, and the water seemed like a great chance to try out glazing. There are probably 15-20 coats of glaze in some parts of the water, and lots of glazes on the leaves as well. It's a beautiful but painstaking way to paint. But oh, what jewel tones you can get! Thanks for looking.

Winter Weave - SOLD

Winter Weave Watercolor on 140 lb Arches watercolor paper 10" x 14" Sold at $100 plus shipping. A departure into slightly "funky" for me today. I actually started on this one yesterday, but it involved painting two of the same painting and then weaving it together. (The lines of cutting really are straight, I've got a little distortion in the camera.) From a distance it's fractured colors and the impression of winter. The idea came to me on the front porch, where the tree limbs seemed woven with the sky. Thanks for looking.

Vase with Daffodils - SOLD

Vase with Daffodils
Watercolor on Cold Press 300 lb watercolor paper
9.5" x 14" image area
Sold at $40.00 plus shipping
I am working on two unusual techniques right now, and wasn't able to finish either piece for posting today, so this is a loose watercolor done for Kate Johnson's online class in watercolors from last year. I really like how the vase turned out on this one. Sometimes it's nice to have some older pieces on hand. Thanks for looking.

Golden Muffins - SOLD

Golden Muffins Oil on Gessoed Board, 5.75" x 7.75" Sold at $60.00 plus shipping. I never did have a chance to do actual "browse around" Christmas shopping this year (all online buying) so today I went to the nearest Stop and Shop, about 25 minutes from here, and just poked around. Bought another poinsettia for $2.00 and a cyclamen, along with these yummy looking corn muffins. They were just so golden that I had to get them to paint. I love the browns and oranges against the white. (They tasted good too!) Thanks for looking.

Garlic Bulbs - SOLD

Garlic Bulbs Oil onn Canvas board, 8" x 10" Sold at $65.00 plus shipping. This probably seems like an odd subject matter, but I love seeing loose garlic in the grocery store. The interesting colors, the shapes, the dry skins. Anyway, this was a tough painting, I'm not sure why. I think it was one of those days when I just forgot how to paint. They happen now and again. Thanks for looking.

Poinsettia Watercolor - SOLD

Poinsettia Watercolor and Watercolor Pencil on watercolor paper Image size 14" x 18" Sold at $75.00 plus $15.00 shipping. We didn't have a poinsettia for Christmas, what with the little ones, but when I was at the grocery store the other day, there were two leftover, raggedy plants sitting in the back room. I took one to the checkout and it was free, so I wanted to honor it with a painting or two. I'll keep it in the basement with me, and maybe paint it again before it's done. Thanks for looking.
