My young second cousin, Julia, asked her Dad to send me some beautiful photos of water lilies, and I've been wanting to paint them. I also purchased some glazing medium for my acrylics, and the water seemed like a great chance to try out glazing. There are probably 15-20 coats of glaze in some parts of the water, and lots of glazes on the leaves as well. It's a beautiful but painstaking way to paint. But oh, what jewel tones you can get! Winter Weave - SOLD

Winter Weave Watercolor on 140 lb Arches watercolor paper 10" x 14" Sold at $100 plus shipping. A departure into slightly "funky" for me today. I actually started on this one yesterday, but it involved painting two of the same painting and then weaving it together. (The lines of cutting really are straight, I've got a little distortion in the camera.) From a distance it's fractured colors and the impression of winter. The idea came to me on the front porch, where the tree limbs seemed woven with the sky. Thanks for looking.

Golden Muffins - SOLD

I never did have a chance to do actual "browse around" Christmas shopping this year (all online buying) so today I went to the nearest Stop and Shop, about 25 minutes from here, and just poked around. Bought another poinsettia for $2.00 and a cyclamen, along with these yummy looking corn muffins. They were just so golden that I had to get them to paint.
